“IFSUNSETS,” an open-world survival RPG developed by Korean indie game company Polymorph Studio and published by Smilegate, has achieved a significant milestone in the global market by surpassing 100,000 cumulative sales approximately one year after its release on Steam Early Access.

If Sunset is an open-world survival RPG sandbox game set on the mysterious island of Luminora. Players must survive by exploring diverse environments, collecting resources, and establishing a base. Based on its high degree of freedom in gameplay and consistent content updates, it has expanded its global user base and laid the foundation for long-term success through content that combines cooperative and combat elements.
Behind this achievement is the large-scale maritime content update introduced on the 29th of last month. Through the update, players can become pirates themselves, build pirate ships, and engage in naval battles with enemy pirate ships.
New underwater exploration content has also been added. Players can collect various items and materials necessary for survival and growth underwater, adding the fun of exploration and combat to the existing survival system. Following the update, positive reactions have continued, particularly in overseas markets such as North America and Germany, and the number of global users has surpassed 100,000.
Smilegate and Polymorph Studio plan to continue implementing convenience improvements and additional marine content updates based on user feedback. Furthermore, they aim for an official global launch on Steam, Stove, and the Epic Games Store in the second half of 2026, following improvements to the game’s quality, such as optimizing the flow of the entire main quest and adding the final boss, the ‘Kraken Battle’.
