The released demo features ‘Stage 1’ of the game and is designed to allow players to experience a survival narrative amidst threats that change organically depending on the choices made by the player or teammates. The demo is available for download and play on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Starting with the release of this demo, Line Games will host a pre-experience event for ‘Code Exit’ at the ‘2026 PlayXpo,’ held at KINTEX in Ilsan from the 21st to the 24th. After improving the game’s quality by incorporating user feedback, they plan to release an Early Access version in the first quarter of next year.
Code Exit is a cooperative horror title set in a city overrun by runaway AI. Players take on the role of an agent for the investigative group ‘Hermes’, tasked with restoring the AI, and track down the truth behind the incident amidst constant threats.
The game features advanced sound design and AI that learns user behavior in real-time, allowing players to experience psychological pressure that transcends “patterned horror.” Furthermore, it is characterized by gameplay that differentiates it from existing horror titles through a structure that does not rely on temporary “jump scares” and a thoroughly interdependent mission design.
Players can enjoy gameplay with 1 to 4 players, and engage in cooperative play by investigating facilities in the dark and completing missions together with teammates using real-time in-game voice chat.
“This demo marks the beginning of ‘cooperative horror’ unique to ‘Code Exit’,” a Line Games official said. “We hope it will be a game where users can share and talk about the moments of survival and the lingering emotions with their companions for a long time, even after the ending.”
The Code Exit demo is available to play on both Steam and the Epic Games Store . The gameplay trailer can be viewed on Phase 8 Studio’s official YouTube channel .
