The Game Culture Foundation, the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency, Pearl Abyss, and the Busan Indie Connect Festival Organizing Committee announced that they will support the participation of six selected titles from the 4th ‘BIGEM (BIC Indie Global Expansion Marketing)’ in the BitSummit Punch 2026 exhibition in Japan.
BitSummit Punch 2026 will be held for three days from May 22 to 24 at Miyako Messe in Kyoto, Japan. Hosted by the Japan Indie Game Association, BitSummit is Japan’s largest international indie game show and an event that attracts the attention of developers, global publishers, and indie game fans across Asia.
BitSummit has a close partnership with the Busan Indie Connect Festival, and at BitSummit Punch 2026, six indie games from Big Jam Season 4 will set up a booth at number 3F-C10 to meet visitors in person.
Big Jam is a public-private partnership project initiated by Pearl Abyss, involving the Game Culture Foundation, the Busan Indie Connect Festival Organizing Committee, and the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency.
Since 2022, we have been selecting outstanding indie games from the Busan Indie Connect Festival exhibits and supporting the entire process necessary for overseas expansion, including participation in overseas exhibitions, booth setup and operation, and promotion and marketing.
In particular, starting with the 4th cohort selected in 2025, the scope of support has been expanded to include leading companies selected through the Korea Creative Content Agency’s indie game development support program, in addition to existing exhibited works, thereby providing global expansion opportunities to a wider range of developers.
The exhibits participating in BitSummit Punch 2026 include ▲BlackGuardian’s ‘Vending Machine Hero’ ▲ Twin Chariot’s ‘XX Logistics Center’ ▲ Whitekite’s ‘Halloween Band’ ▲ ZPINK’s ‘Dr. DeGauss’ ▲ The Armory’s ‘Demon King’s Tower’ ▲ This is ‘Inari’ by 1HPSTUDIO.
These are works selected for the 4th season of Big Jam, featuring distinct genre characteristics and completeness across the exhibition and leading company categories of the Busan Indie Connect Festival.
Through this exhibition, participating teams will have the opportunity to interact directly with local Japanese visitors and gather global feedback. As this event brings together key indie game industry professionals from Asia, it is expected to serve as a catalyst for expanding the international recognition of Korean indie games and establishing connections with the local market.
Joo Sung-pil, Chairman of the Busan Indie Connect Festival Organizing Committee, stated that participating in this BitSummit is a meaningful opportunity for the developers of the 4th Big Jam to meet local Japanese gamers in person and experience global feedback firsthand. He added that the organizing committee will continue to support domestic indie game developers through the Big Jam program, a collaboration between the public and private sectors, so that they can identify new possibilities in overseas markets and achieve tangible results.
