‘Totally Safe Moon Project’ Unveiled to Build Towers to Block Asteroids All the Way to the Moon

    By Editorial Team2026년 05월 16일5 Mins Read
    • Finnish duo studio Fake Moon, Nintendo-inspired cooperative adventure
    • A 4-player cooperative cartoon-style physics adventure where you stack sofas, buses, and even houses to head to the moon

A giant asteroid is approaching Earth. Humanity’s plan is simple: stack sofas, bicycles, buses, and even houses one on top of another to build a tower reaching the moon, and then place a laser cannon at the top to destroy the asteroid. It may not be a perfect plan, but shouldn’t we at least give it a try?

Fake Moon, a two-person development team from Finland, and rokaplay Select, an indie publisher based in Darmstadt, Germany, have announced the 4-player online cooperative adventure ‘Totally Safe Moon Project’ and released an official introduction video. The game is scheduled to be released on PC via Steam in 2026.

A colorful cartoon physics world… visual chaos unfolding atop a swaying tower

Composed of bright and cheerful cartoon-style colors, Totally Safe Moon Project is a physics-based cooperative game where players build a giant tower reaching the moon by stacking various household items and structures.

Players connect sofas, bicycles, cars, buses, and even entire houses to create a path leading to the sky. As they rise higher, the structures transform into increasingly surreal and precarious forms, and the swaying towers themselves are the core fun element of the game. The game captures the journey starting from an ordinary neighborhood on the ground, passing over the clouds, and soaring into the upper atmosphere.

The sound also perfectly captures the atmosphere of the game. Physics sounds of objects colliding and towers creaking, the absurd sound of a friend falling to Earth, and the majestic sound of a tower collapsing just as it was about to be completed auditorily complete the unique emotions of a cooperative game.

One Gravity Gun changes the world… Physics-based creative problem solving

The core of the gameplay is physics-based interaction. Players can use a powerful gravity gun to pick up objects, move them, and place them in desired locations.

The Gravity Gun is an excellent building tool when used correctly, but even a slight misdirection can lead to a major accident where a tower painstakingly built over tens of minutes collapses in an instant. This kind of unpredictable chaos is considered the game’s greatest appeal.

As the tower gets higher, various movement tools such as grappling hooks, gliding umbrellas, and rocket launchers appear. Players can use these to rescue each other, move faster, or sometimes create absurd situations where they unintentionally drop a friend to the ground below.

The game focuses on cooperative play with minimal competitive elements. The core fun lies in the process of building structures and cleaning up disasters together with friends, without the pressure of leaderboard rankings or winning or losing.

Once the tower is completed, the game enters its final stage. Players must transport the laser cannon to the top and destroy the asteroid within the time limit, a process that requires constant physics thinking and cooperative play.

“The best Let’s Game It Out video of all time”… Becomes a hot topic in the community immediately after release

The released trailer is quickly gaining attention in the cooperative game community.

Gaming media outlet Blue’s News introduced the video by stating, “It’s not real, but it feels like the most ‘Let’s Game It Out’-esque game video,” and evaluated that the chaotic play style of stacking random objects perfectly matches the vibe of the famous YouTube channel.

Another media outlet, WorthPlaying, introduced the game as “a work designed around creativity, cooperation, and delightful chaos,” emphasizing its appeal as a non-competitive cooperative game.

The development team is also consistently sharing the development process through YouTube Shorts and actively incorporating community feedback.

A cheerful project by a Finnish duo named after the moon

Fake Moon is a two-person indie development team from Finland. Given that the studio’s name itself is ‘Fake Moon,’ this project, which involves building a tower up to the moon, perfectly reflects the team’s unique sense of humor.

Publisher rokaplay Select is an indie publisher based in Darmstadt, Germany, dedicated to creating Nintendo-style, family-friendly, and cozy games. In particular, it emphasizes transparent communication with the community and support for indie development as its core values.

one side The Totally Safe Moon Project is scheduled to be released on PC Steam in 2026 and supports online co-op play for up to four players.
