Attack by a flock of zombie sheep… Cooperative action ‘Flock Off!’ Info Revealed

    By Editorial Team2026년 05월 13일4 Mins Read
    • Undead cattle that ran over Scotland in the 90s… A strange coexistence of horror and comedy
    • Debut title from Icelandic veteran team Bunkhouse Games, including EVE Online developers

A cooperative action game set in the Scottish Highlands in the early 1990s, in which players face off against a ‘flock of zombie sheep’ created by a failed cloning experiment, has been revealed.

Bunkhouse Games, an indie studio based in Reykjavik, Iceland, has revealed information about its 1-4 player cooperative PvE action adventure ‘Flock Off!’ and announced that it will be released on PC Steam in 2026.

The game begins with a bizarre premise in which a flock of zombie sheep engulfs a Scottish countryside. The developers foreshadowed a unique gameplay blend of horror and comedy, stating, “You will experience both laughter and surprising moments amidst intentionally designed absurdity.”

90s Scottish Highlands, a battlefield where horror and comedy coexist

Flock Off! is a first-person action-adventure game based on stylized 3D graphics. The tranquil Scottish Highlands are reinterpreted as a chaotic space swarming with zombie sheep. Undead livestock, bleating and galloping between foggy pastures and stone-walled villages, are depicted with bizarre yet exaggerated visuals.

The sound design also reinforces this atmosphere. The eerie bleating of sheep and the sound of objects being destroyed overlap over music that heightens the tension of combat, and occasional jump scares are added to provide an experience where tension and laughter intersect.

The development team revealed their development philosophy, stating, “We wanted to create a game that is silly, tense, and above all, fun. The most memorable moments are when everything goes awry and you end up laughing while crying.”

“Everything visible is a weapon”… A chaotic battle centered on utilizing the environment

Four survivors are trapped in a remote village and must survive using only their bare hands and the surrounding environment. As a survivor isolated in a remote village, the player must utilize every object in the vicinity as a weapon. Almost every visible object, such as shovels, benches, traffic cones, signs, and lawnmowers, can be used as a combat tool.

Special items also exist. Equipment with different effects, such as boomboxes, trash bags, and glue bottles, introduces variables into combat. The entire game is designed around intentional chaos and physics-based interactions, including the ability to pick up the companion character ‘Paul’ and use him as a weapon.

Just as the Steam tags ‘Co-op’, ‘Hack and Slash’, ‘Zombie’, ‘First Person’, ‘Humor’, ‘Horror’, ‘Casual’, and ‘Physics-based Combat’ are displayed simultaneously, the game embraces chaos itself as its genre rather than clearly defining genre boundaries. Like its title, the game is a euphemistic expression for an English swear word, while simultaneously conveying a double meaning of telling a flock of sheep to “get lost.”

‘EVE Online’ Development Team Participates… Veteran Team’s Debut Title

The game was created by a team led by Matthías Guðmundsson, the former lead developer of EVE Online.

Based in Reykjavik, Iceland, Bunkhouse Games is a studio founded by veteran developers from CCP Games, Ubisoft, and Tripwire Interactive, and Flock Off! is the team’s debut title. The studio’s development philosophy centers on multiplayer experiences that prioritize collaboration, social connection, and, above all, fun.

The reaction to the game from overseas media and communities is enthusiastic. Some media outlets have positively evaluated the game’s concept, stating, “The premise is ridiculous, but that is precisely the key.”

Anticipation among fans of the cooperative, zombie, and comedy genres is rapidly spreading across Steam wishlists and social media channels. Attention is focused on how Flock Off! will be received, as it combines a bizarre setting, physics-based chaotic combat, and cooperative gameplay.
