• K-Indie Developer Crescent Opens Official Steam Page
  • Up to 4-player co-op, in-game voice chat, and pattern-learning AI enemies

Line Games (Co-CEOs Cho Dong-hyun and Bae Young-jin) has signed a publishing contract for the new PC title ‘CODE EXIT’ with domestic indie developer Cresent (CEO Choi Eun-chul) and opened an official Steam page.

The game is a first-person sci-fi cooperative horror title where up to four players cooperate to attempt to escape a city dominated by runaway AI. It features AI enemies that learn from player actions and a cooperative mission structure. Development is currently underway with the goal of a Steam Early Access release in the first quarter of 2027, following the release of a demo.

The rampage of the integrated AI ‘Minerva’, a city taken over by killing machines

The game is set in the high-tech city of ‘Pantheon’. Minerva, the integrated AI that governed the entire city, suddenly went berserk, plunging the city into chaos in an instant. Players take on the role of a member of ‘Hermes’, an investigation group deployed to restore the system, and dive into the heart of a city swarming with killing machines.

The goal is to restore the system, recover scattered data, and uncover the truth behind Minerva’s rampage. The core of the mission involves exploring the darkened facility, completing the mission, and finding an escape route. Failure to complete the mission will result in wandering through an endless maze of darkness.

Pitch-black darkness and mechanical horror… graphics and atmosphere

CODE EXIT is set in a city filled with dark silence and eerie mechanical sounds. The first-person exploration of the facility maximizes the tension of having to share clues with teammates in the darkness.

The developers explain that the game’s overall atmosphere focuses on psychological horror, and the sensation of being watched by an unseen eye creates a fear deeper than reality itself. In a world where even the slightest noise is a threat, you must find a way out while holding onto your crumbling sanity.

As the game requires a graphics card of RTX 3060 or higher as its recommended specifications, You can tell that considerable effort is being put into the visual quality.

4-Person Collaboration and Pattern Learning AI… Differentiating Points

CODE EXIT has two major features. The first is support for up to four-player cooperative gameplay and in-game voice chat. Since missions are designed to be solved only by sharing information from separate locations or relying on teammates, communication and cooperation are key to survival.

With each zone completely sealed off under Minerva’s ruthless orders, you must strategically utilize tools placed throughout the facility to break through blocked doors and shut-down systems to advance to the next zone.

The second is an AI enemy system that learns the player’s behavioral patterns. If the same strategy is repeated, the AI analyzes it and evolves into a more effective pursuit method. This makes rote memorization of patterns impossible and requires strategic judgment to respond to threats that change with every playthrough.

Meanwhile, in crisis situations, the Adrenaline Surge system is activated to concentrate firepower with teammates for an emergency breakthrough, allowing you to experience catharsis that transitions from fear to extreme pleasure.

Targeting Early Access in Q1 next year following the demo release

LINE Games plans to release a demo in the near future that allows users to experience CODE EXIT’s unique game content in advance. Following further development incorporating user feedback, the company aims to enter Steam Early Access in the first quarter of 2027.

It supports 8 languages, including Korean, English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and French, and is targeting the global market simultaneously.

Line Games’ PC Title Expansion Strategy and Developer Crescent

Since its merger with Nextfloor, Line Games has shifted its focus away from mobile and adopted the expansion of PC and console titles as its primary strategy. In 2025, the company unveiled its self-developed PC title ‘Ember & Blade’ and announced plans for a Steam release. CODE EXIT is expected to establish itself as a key title representing the horror and cooperative genres within Line Games’ strategy of genre diversification.

Developer Crescent is a South Korean indie studio that has released CODE EXIT as its first title. They are releasing game information through official channels including YouTube, Instagram, X (Twitter), and Discord.

A Line Games official stated, “CODE EXIT will play a key role in our ongoing strategy of genre diversification and expansion of PC titles,” adding, “We will strengthen cooperation with the developer to provide users with a differentiated gameplay experience, along with the genre-specific fun of horror and cooperative gameplay.”

Detailed information about CODE EXIT, including its major schedule, can be found on the Steam page.
