• The debut work of indie duo Buma Games, created by a husband and wife
  • Radioactive Squirrels, Voodoo Kraken… Recreating Chaotic Game Development as a Clicker

Buma Games, a husband-and-wife indie development team, officially announced “It’s Fine,” a 2D active clicker game based on the game development nightmare of “crunch mode,” and released a free Steam demo.

The game is the first title by Buma Games, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, and comically depicts the extreme situation of an indie developer who must complete and release a game within 24 hours.

The publisher moved the release date up… Complete Version 1.0 within 24 hours

The game’s premise is simple yet relatable. The publisher has suddenly moved the release date up, and the player has only 24 hours. The goal is to manage each station of the game development company and release the scheduled indie games on time.

However, this development company is anything but ordinary. The project manager is a dog, the art director is a gorilla, and marketing is handled by a bot farm. In an environment of sheer chaos, will the player be able to meet the deadline?

Radioactive Squirrels and Krakens Code for You… An Original Clicker Mechanism

‘It’s Fine’ starts with generating code through basic computer clicks, but as the game progresses, absurd and creative elements emerge, expanding the scope of gameplay. You must increase production efficiency by expanding your office to add firmware, processors, and RAM, and by continuously supplying espresso with a coffee maker to enhance concentration.

Bizarre devices such as an ancient 3D printer, Voodoo Kraken, and Vandalist Bird appear at the station to generate additional currency. In particular, the squirrel ‘Peanut’ is a key character. With a back-wheel that aids in production and the ability to emit radioactive lightning upon evolution, it showcases the game’s signature quirky atmosphere.

Hand-drawn 2D graphics and cheerful sound

The game’s visuals consist of 100% hand-drawn 2D art, with every pixel drawn by hand. The developers particularly emphasize that they did not use any AI-generated images. The various absurd situations unfolding within the small office combine with the charming aesthetic of the pixel art to exude a unique appeal.

The same goes for the music and sound effects. All the background music and sounds were produced by composer Alon Amit, and the soundtrack, which captures both tension and humor, blends well with the repetitive gameplay rhythm characteristic of clickers. The overall atmosphere of the game is consistently designed to sublimate extreme stress into unique optimistic humor, much like the title, “Ah, I’m screwed… but it’ll be fine (It’s Fine).”

A Prestige System and a Clear Ending… A Clicker Designed for Completion

In the currently released demo, players can experience the game’s core loop along with the Prestige system. Prestige is designed to grant permanent modifiers instead of resetting progress, making subsequent gameplay faster and more efficient. It also includes various challenges and achievements. Each mission serves as a stepping stone toward the ultimate goal of completing the game.

The developer stated that ‘It’s Fine’ was designed as a complete experience with a clear ending. What sets it apart from other incremental clicker games is that it is structured to actually achieve the goal of “completing and releasing the game within 24 hours.”

A game created by a married couple staying up all night… Buma Games’ first work

Buma Games is an indie studio run by an anonymous married couple duo named ‘Dog’ and ‘Cat’. They maintain a cheerful concept, such as a setting where an owl mascot named ‘Buma’ watches over them. Introducing themselves as working while the whole world is asleep, this team takes as their philosophy a ‘100% human-made’ experience that uses absolutely no AI art or AI music.

‘It’s Time’ is their first debut title, and the couple personally handled every process from planning to development. The game is scheduled for official release in the third quarter of 2026.
