Crunch Time is Hell: Indie Developer Simulation ‘It’s Fine’ Revealed

    By Editorial Team2026년 04월 19일3 Mins Read
    • The Nightmare: Your publisher just moved the deadline. You have 24 hours to finish Version 1.0, or it’s game over.
    • The Team: Developed by Buma Games, a husband-and-wife indie duo based in Indianapolis.
    • The Hook: A 2D active clicker featuring a chaotic office staffed by gorillas, radioactive squirrels, and voodoo krakens.
    • The Manifesto: Proudly 100% human-made—no AI art or AI music allowed.

If you’ve ever wondered what the final 24 hours of an indie game launch look like (minus the actual crying), Buma Games has just the thing. Their debut title, It’s Fine, is a comedic “active incremental clicker” that captures the absolute chaos of a development crunch. A free demo is now available on Steam, giving players a taste of the frantic life of a digital creator.

A Staff Meeting from Outer Space

In It’s Fine, your goal is simple: generate enough code to launch your game before the timer hits zero. However, your “office” is far from standard.

    • The Crew: Your Project Manager is a literal Dog, your Art Director is a Gorilla, and your marketing team is a literal Bot Farm.
    • Bizarre Boosters: To speed up production, you’ll need more than just coffee (though the Espresso Maker is vital). You’ll enlist the help of a Voodoo Kraken for extra luck, a Vandalist Bird to shake things up, and a 3D printer that looks like it belongs in a museum.
    • Peanut the Squirrel: The heart of your operation is Peanut. This squirrel generates power by running on his wheel, but with enough upgrades, he evolves into a Radioactive Squirrel capable of shooting lightning to supercharge your progress.

    100% Human-Made Excellence

In an era of generative tools, Buma Games is taking a hard stance. Every pixel in the game’s vibrant 2D world was hand-drawn, and every note of the soundtrack was composed by Alon Amit. This “human-first” philosophy gives the game a tactile, quirky charm that reflects the personality of its creators.

The gameplay is consistent with the title—no matter how many fires break out or how many radioactive rodents are roaming the halls, the mantra is always the same: “It’s fine.”

    The Duo Behind the Chaos

Buma Games is the project of “Dog” and “Cat,” an anonymous husband-and-wife team who claim to do their best work while the rest of the world is asleep. Overseen by their owl mascot, Buma, the team wanted to create a clicker that wasn’t just an infinite loop. Unlike many games in the genre, It’s Fine is designed with a definite ending—once you ship the game, you’ve won (until the next “Prestige” run, of course).

With a release scheduled for the third quarter of 2026, It’s Fine looks to be a hilarious love letter to the struggles of independent creators everywhere.
