AI-Powered Indie Development: KOCCA & Sogang University Open Recruitment for 2026 Creative Talent Program

    By Editorial Team2026년 04월 01일3 Mins Read
    • The Vision: Bridging the gap between traditional game development and Generative AI to empower the next generation of indie creators.
    • The Mentors: Industry heavyweights from Neople, Com2uS, Unity Korea, and Smilegate providing direct project-based guidance.
    • The Perks: A monthly stipend of 1.5 million KRW and 6.5 months of intensive, hands-on professional mentoring.
    • The Deadline: Applications are open from April 1 to April 15, 2026 (11:00 AM KST).

The game industry is evolving at breakneck speed, and Artificial Intelligence is at the heart of this transformation. To ensure local developers stay at the cutting edge, the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), Sogang University’s Industry-University Cooperation Foundation, and the Korea AI Game Association have officially launched the “2026 Content Creative Talent Accompaniment Project.”

    Mastering the AI Pipeline

This year’s program, titled “AI-Driven Developer Training for Optimized Game Production,” moves beyond theory. It focuses on integrating Generative AI into every stage of the development cycle—from initial planning and level design to art assets, server architecture, and even global marketing strategies.

Selected participants (mentees) will be paired with veteran mentors from Korea’s leading game studios. These experts will help developers refine their personal projects, ensuring they meet the technical and commercial standards of the modern global market.

    Comprehensive Support for Indie Creators

The program is specifically designed to alleviate the financial and technical burdens of indie development.

    • Apprenticeship Model: Mentees receive 6 hours of direct mentoring per week, allowing for a deep dive into specific project hurdles.
    • Financial Buff: To allow creators to focus entirely on their craft, each participant receives a monthly creative support stipend of 1.5 million KRW for the duration of the program.
    • Networking & Workshops: Beyond mentoring, the project includes specialized lectures, workshops, and networking events to connect creators with investors and publishers.
