‘Gyeonggi Game Connect 2024’ to be held in Pangyo on October 30th and 31st

경기창조경제혁신센터 지하 2층 국제회의장, 1층 기가홀에서 개최, 참가 정원은 100명, 온오프믹스 이벤트 페이지를 통해 신청 가능

The Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency (President Yong-Seok Tak, hereinafter referred to as G-Content Agency) will hold the ‘Gyeonggi Game Connect 2024’ event to promote small and medium-sized games on October 30-31 at the International Conference Hall on the 2nd basement floor of the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center and the Giga Hall on the 1st floor.

G-Game Connect is an event planned under the theme of ‘Games, Connecting Industries’ to introduce excellent game developers operating in Gyeonggi-do to domestic and international investors, gamers, and students preparing to start a business in related fields. It is a follow-up support project that allows game companies that received feedback from users and investors at ‘PlayX4’, the most significant game show in the metropolitan area held in May, to present more advanced games.

The first day of the two-day event will be a promotional and communication event focused on external visitors. In contrast, the second day will be an investment and seminar event focused on business meetings.

The first day, the 30th, will kick off with an orchestral congratulatory performance rearranged from the insert songs of the indie games ‘Sannabi’ and ‘Witch’s Spring R’. The following indie game showcase will feature experience zones for Gino Games’ ‘Hello Seoul: Itaewon’ and Lizard Smoothie’s ‘Shape of Dream’.

At the talk concert, five experts will discuss the topic of ‘Game publishing and investment attraction know-how’. Director Yeom Dong-hyun of the Game Contents School at Cheonggang Industry and Culture University will moderate. The speakers will be Team Leader Kim Hyuk-jin of Neowiz Investment Business Division, GXC CEO Danny Woo, Codename Bom CEO Shin Cheol, and Trypul Games CEO Jeong Man-son.

In addition, an e-sports job fair, an awards ceremony, and an experience booth for the ‘2024 WASD Indie Game Contest’ jointly hosted by GCA and Smilegate Stove Indie will be held together.

On the first day, from 11 AM to 5 PM, the indie game FGT (user response test before game release) with the game testing platform ‘Flidus’ will be held for those who have applied in advance. Applicants can experience and provide feedback on ten promising indie games on-site during the two hours they have reserved. Prizes such as gaming monitors will also be awarded to those who write excellent questionnaires.

The ‘IR Demo Day’ will be held from 10 AM to 5 PM on the second day of the event. Thirteen game companies and 14 investment companies and publishers are expected to participate. The participating companies will aim to attract project investment and enter the global market through IR pitching, investment consulting, and game demonstration booths.

From 2 PM to 4 PM, the ‘Global Expansion and AI Utilization Seminar’ will be held in Giga Hall on the first floor. Team Leader Kim Ba-da of Nerdista will present on the topic of ‘Game Development with AI, Redefining Roles’, and PM Kang Dae-hwan of Super Planet will present on ‘Indie Game Global Expansion Strategy’.

Legal consultations, which are a weak point for small and medium-sized game companies, will also be provided during the two-day event. This year, attorneys Jang Hyo-jun and Shin Yoon from Law Firm Mission, who work at the Gyeonggi-do Content Legal Support Center, will provide consultations.

The G-Game Connect event is open to anyone interested in small and medium-sized games, including gamers, developers, businesspeople, and students. As the number of participants is limited, we recommend that you apply online in advance and then visit.

Detailed event information can be found on the GCA website’s Education/Event bulletin board (www.gcon.or.kr).
