KOCCA, recruiting companies participating in the Korea Joint Pavilion for overseas game exhibitions

    By Editorial Team2023년 05월 17일Updated:2023년 06월 23일4 Mins Read

    – Gamescom, Tokyo Game Show Korea Joint Pavilion Recruitment. To expand domestic game companies’ overseas expansion
    – Conducted B2B business consultations with 15 game companies and major overseas buyers at Gamescom in August
    – Preparing support programs such as Tokyo Game Show in September, overseas expansion consulting, business matching, and visits to local companies

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Park Bo-gyun) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (Director Cho Hyun-rae, hereinafter KOCCA) held Germany’s ‘Gamescom 2023’ and Japan’s ‘Tokyo Game Show 2023′ to support the advancement of Korea’s excellent game contents into overseas markets. Show 2023)’ is recruiting exhibitors for the Korea Pavilion.

Through the operation of a Korean joint pavilion at leading international game exhibitions, including Gamescom, last year, KOCCA ▲a total of 422 export consultations ▲consultation amount to 108.58 million dollars ▲5 global investment contracts ▲9 publishing contracts, etc. Provided an opportunity to strengthen its position.

This year, through the operation of the Korean Joint Pavilion, we plan to provide business consultation opportunities for excellent domestic game companies and overseas distributors and to support various activities to lead to exports. Anyone with domestic game content related to domestic online (PC), mobile, console, and next-generation technologies (VR, AR, etc.) with global launch plans and capabilities can apply.

◆ Operates a Korean joint pavilion with 15 domestic game developers at Europe’s largest game show

First of all, KOCCA will participate in ‘Gamescom 2023’, the world’s top three game exhibition to be held in Cologne, Germany, from August 23 to 27, and operate a Korean joint pavilion.

About 270,000 visitors from over 100 countries visited Gamescom, which resumed offline exhibitions for the first time in three years since Corona 19 last year. In Korea, 30 companies, including Neowiz, Nexon Korea, Krafton, and Samsung Electronics, participated.

This year’s Korean Pavilion is exhibited for B2B and consists of 10 companies in the PC, mobile, and console game sectors and 5 companies in the VR/AR game sector. Prior to the event, KOCC provides participating companies with an in-depth analysis report that includes information on game shows, market trends, and major buyers and invites major global buyers, such as foreign publishers and accelerators, during the event to help participating companies achieve practical results. Will be supported by Participating companies in the VR/AR game sector will be separately recruited at the content export marketing platform ‘Welcon (welcon.kocca.kr)’ in May.

◆ Tokyo Game Show Korea Pavilion focuses on expanding the global business of local companies

KOCCA will also participate in the Tokyo Game Show held in Japan in September, operating a Korean joint pavilion for four days from September 21st to 24th, the B2C period, to create global business opportunities for domestic companies.

The Tokyo Game Show is also one of the world’s top three game exhibitions and will actively showcase excellent domestic games to visitors through various events during the event. Various programs such as ▲customized biz matching for each participating company, ▲participant meetings, ▲local company visits, ▲Korea-Japan game contents company exchange meetings, and ▲PR support will be held through the Korean Pavilion.

In particular, this year, in order to expand global business opportunities for game companies based in the region, we are recruiting participants in cooperation with global game centers in five regions: Gyeonggi, Gyeongbuk, Daegu, Busan, and Chungnam. Participating companies are scheduled to be recruited separately in May by each regional promotion agency, and duplicate applications are possible in the ongoing KOCCA recruitment announcement, but the duplicate selection is not possible.

“We will actively participate in major global game shows this year, actively promote the competitiveness of K-games, one of the representative K-contents, to overseas markets and lead them to practical results,” said Kim Seong-joon, head of Kon Jin-won’s game division. “Especially focusing on existing mobile games, We will strive to provide information on overseas markets and discover promising publishers so that we can expand our exports to exports of various platform games such as consoles and PCs.”

Recruitment of companies participating in the Korean Pavilion is until 6:00 pm on May 25 (Thursday). Companies wishing to participate can apply online through the KOCCA website ( www.kocca.kr ).
