    KOCCA, ‘2023 Korea Content Awards’ award candidate recommendation submission

    The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Park Bo-gyun, hereinafter Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (Director Cho Hyun-rae, hereinafter KOCCA) will nominate candidates (works) for the ‘2023 Korea Contents Awards’ until June 20 to encourage those who have contributed to the development of the content industry. be recommended

    The Korea Contents Awards, which celebrated its 15th anniversary this year, is the only awards ceremony held covering all fields of the content industry, including broadcast video, games, cartoons, animations, and characters. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and KOCCA are promoting the pride and morale of those working in the content industry by discovering and awarding contributors to the development of the content industry, such as producing excellent content and vitalizing content export.

    ◆ Groups and individuals who have led the development of K-contents, a total of 3 awards in progress

    The prize sector will be divided into three categories: merit in overseas advancement, merit in the development of the broadcasting and video industry, and merit in the development of the game industry.

    ‘Overseas Expansion Merit’ receives nominations from organizations and individuals who have contributed to the development of the content industry through the overseas expansion of content, such as the export of content, the spread of the Korean Wave and preparation of the foundation, and international cultural exchange.

    ‘Broadcasting and Visual Industry Development Merit’ invites groups and individuals who have contributed to developing the national economy and the global spread of K-content through planning, production, distribution, and export of broadcasting and video content.

    ‘Game Industry Development Merit’ is a total of two public fields, game industry development, and game culture promotion. I plan to reward you.

    Past recipients include ▲Hunseok Baek, CEO of ELTV Co., Ltd., a production company that introduced Korean food culture and tradition to the world with the third series of Korean Food Rhapsody, ‘Hanwoo Rhapsody’ ▲ Representatives of Korea such as ‘Pororo the Little Penguin’ and ‘Tayo the Little Bus’ Choi Jong-il, CEO of Iconix Co., Ltd., which produced and exported animations to 160 countries overseas ▲ Haegin Co., Ltd., which announced the excellence of domestic games in the global market by developing the metaverse mobile game and achieving more than 130 million cumulative downloads CEO Lee Young-il of the webtoon, Red Ice Studio CEO Jang Jung-sook, director Lee Jae-gyu, writer Lee Eon-joo of, indie game CEO Kim Dong-gyu of Heidier and others received awards in recognition of their contributions.

    The winners will be finally announced in November after a thorough examination by experts among candidates in each category and a total of three stages of verification. In addition, through the ‘2023 Korea Content Awards Ceremony to be held in December, we plan to arrange a place to congratulate the winners of glory directly.
