    ‘Busan Indie Connect Festival 2022’, the largest 18 companies in history

    – Active support from large game developers to non-profit foundations to revitalize the indie game ecosystem
    – From September 1, ‘Busan Indie Connect Festival 2022’ will open simultaneously online and offline

    Busan City (Mayor Park Hyung-jun), Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency (President Jung Moon-seop), and the Busan Indie Connect Festival Organizing Committee (Chairman Seo Tae-gun, hereafter referred to as the BIC Organizing Committee) will hold the ‘Busan Indie Connect Festival 2022 (Busan Indie Connect Festival 2022) BIC Festival 2022 (hereinafter referred to as BIC Festival 2022)’ official sponsor company was unveiled on the 9th.

    Companies confirmed as official sponsors of BIC Festival 2022 are ‘Studio Kingdom, Nickalis, Pearl Abyss, YAHAHA, Epic Games, Megazone Cloud, Xbox, Xsolla, Smilegate Stove Indie, One Store, Unity Technologies, Devolver Digital, Mirae There are a total of 18 companies, including the Contents Foundation, NCsoft, Back End, Naver Jet, Sensor Tower, and the Game Management Committee. This is the largest amount of sponsor participation in the history of the BIC Festival, which started in 2015 and is celebrating its 8th anniversary this year.

    The sponsors of this event have confirmed their participation as official sponsors of BIC Festival 2022 to revitalize the domestic and overseas indie game ecosystem that is steadily expanding its support.

    First of all, three companies participate as platinum sponsors, a development subsidiary of Devsisters, which is servicing ‘Cookie Run: Kingdom’, which is loved by many countries around the world, and is developing new projects ‘Cookie Run: Witch’s Castle’ and ‘Brick City’. ▲ Studio Kingdom, the developer of Isaac’s Burnt Series, and has been collaborating with several Korean developers and is actively publishing Korean indie games such as Dawn Grid console version and Critadell ▲Nikalis, developed with its own game engine ‘ ▲Pearl Abyss, which has been a global hit by directly servicing Black Desert Online in 150 countries, is working hard to expand the base of indie games.

    In addition, as gold sponsors, three companies including ▲YAHAHA ▲Epic Games ▲Megazone Cloud participated, ▲Xbox ▲Xsolla ▲Smilegate StoveIndy ▲OneStore ▲Unity Technologies ▲Devolver Digital ▲Mirae Contents Foundation ▲NCsoft ▲Rear end Nine companies including Silver Sponsor, ▲NAVER Z ▲Sensor Tower ▲Game Management Committee participated as bronze sponsors and announced their intention to actively support indie game developers.

    BIC Festival 2022, which is increasing expectations by releasing this year’s final selection list and starting early bird ticket sales, will be held both online and offline at the Busan Port International Convention Center (BPEX) and BIC’s official website on September 1st. In particular, this year, overseas developers will also participate in face-to-face exhibitions and directly meet and communicate with visitors.

    Tae-Gon Seo, chairman of the Busan Indie Connect Festival organizing committee, said, “I would like to thank many companies for participating in supporting indie game developers by willingly joining the BIC Festival 2022, where domestic and foreign developers will gather for the first time since Corona.” We will do everything we can to make this event a global game festival that can spread the indie game culture around the world as much as they send their support.”

    Jung Moon-seop, head of the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency, said, “Watching the largest exhibition ever and sponsor participation, I realize that the domestic and foreign indie game markets are attracting attention and interest is growing. We hope that the indie game developers participating this year will have good results by making efforts to successfully advance into the global market as well as the domestic market.”
