‘Turn the Line’ is a game that tells the story of Alex, the main character, who succeeded in finding a job in space after experiencing difficulties in finding a job on Earth.
Alex, unable to withstand the severe unemployment on Earth, turned to space employment. I finally got my acceptance letter, but the company was none other than the ‘Notorious Moon Factory’. It was a company I entered with a happy heart, but soon I only want to leave work due to the high workload…
Gamers and up to 4 people, including themselves, must be Alex and colleagues to help them finish their work in the factory and leave work early.
‘Turn the Line’ is a game that started with a prototype made with game jam by 4 working developers. The development team tried to incorporate various fun elements into this game by using elements inspired by the games that each of them played impressively, such as ‘Overcooked’, ‘Fall Guys’, and ‘Gather up Animal Crossing’.
It is said that they developed the game with the following three goals in addition to the basic restrictions of the game jam of ‘complete in a short time’ at the time.
- would be fun
- It must be a genre that the team members have not tried before.
- We must have our own fun and appealing elements
In fact, for team members who had only experience developing mobile games, console-targeted games were a completely new challenge, and in particular, cooperative tycoon play was optimal for realizing the most fundamental ‘fun’ of the game.
In addition, although it may be helpful, we added elements that could be a mistake or a hindrance to induce the joy that could be just a ‘revolutionary party’ if there was no smooth communication.
Furthermore, the development team said that by adopting cute graphics with a soft atmosphere, they wanted to create a light game that anyone can enjoy and enjoy with family or friends.
The development team confirmed the possibility in the prototype of ‘Turn the Line’, and decided to aim for completion and release. After that, the planning and graphic elements were refined and finally selected in the 2021 Indie Game Planning and Development Contest of the Korea Creative Content Agency .
‘Turn the Line’, which has been in development for about a year, is scheduled to be developed as follows, starting with Steam Early Access on March 18, 2022.
In addition to the above plan, stories and various modes will be added in between, and the development of Nintendo Switch, XBOX, and PlayStation 4 is also in mind.
The development team said, “Currently, about 80% of ‘Turn the Line’ is ready for Steam Early Access, and it is in the final stage of release.”
