    Metaverse Virtual Game Show, ‘2022 Indiecraft’ is soliciting entries until April 14th

    The Korea Mobile Game Association announced on the 24th that it will start recruiting entries for ‘2022 Indiecraft’, hosted by Seongnam City and co-hosted by the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency and the Korea Mobile Game Association.

    The global indie game contest ‘Indiecraft’, which has been promoted since 2017, discovers small and medium-sized indie game developers with creative ideas and excellent game production technology, supports sustainable commercialization, and fosters innovative games that will lead the global game industry. It was started to contribute to the creation of a healthy game ecosystem.

    Starting with Korea’s first online virtual game show in 2020, it received favorable reviews for creating a new wind in domestic game exhibitions through the virtual game show that applied the metaverse concept for the first time in Korea in 2021. It will continue to welcome global game users through an online virtual game show through Metaverse in 2022.

    From this year, the invitation to overseas indie games will be greatly increased by emphasizing the ‘global indie game festival’, and about 70 excellent indie games at home and abroad will be exhibited.

    The target for recruitment is the domestic sector and the community sector, and the domestic sector is for small and medium-sized and indie game developers across the country. The winning works are given the opportunity to participate in the Metaverse Online Virtual Game Show, and about 100 booths including excellent domestic and foreign indie games, overseas invited works, and sponsors are on display.

    Indie game developers and visitors can freely participate in the exhibition on PC or mobile by using the metaverse function, so they can freely view the exhibition beyond the part that could only be participated on a PC. In addition, it plans to show the aspect of the metaverse game exhibition through the introduction of indie games and live broadcasts of influencers for global users.

    In particular, this year, it will participate in ‘Gamescom 2022’, Europe’s largest game exhibition, and operate an indiecraft booth in the local area, and also conduct an exhibition through ‘Metaverse Online Virtual Game Show’ for Gamescom users. In addition, various events such as online meetings with publishers, investors, and game industry officials are held to provide opportunities to promote K-indie games to the world.

    In addition, you can experience various mini-games through the Metaverse Virtual Game Show, and as if you were actually immersed in the world of the drama by creating mini-game booths for the K-dramas ‘Squid Game’ and ‘Now at Our School’, which hit the topic in 2021. It provides an opportunity to experience vivid emotions.

    After the virtual game show, expert mentoring, networking and support for commercialization in connection with sponsors, as well as commercialization support (prize) that can be used in the desired field by the excellent selected developer are provided.
