- A healing adventure where you clean up a polluted pixel world while upgrading your equipment
- Steam Early Access on October 15… Switch version scheduled for release in 2027.
Acclaim, Inc. and Valadria announced that the pixel art cleaning simulation game ‘Pixel Washer ‘ will be released on Steam Early Access on October 15. Along with the release date announcement, a new trailer was also unveiled featuring the protagonist pig ‘Pigxel’ cleaning up dirty places.
In ‘Pixel Washer’, players must wield a high-pressure washer and navigate a pixel world covered in dust and grime to restore various locations.
The core of the game is the process of washing away contaminated surfaces to reveal their original state, and resources earned through work can be used to purchase washing machines, vehicles, and additional equipment to enhance tools. It is characterized by a relaxing gameplay experience enhanced by soothing music and cleaning sound effects.
In the recently released trailer, you can see scenes of Pixels cleaning up various parts of the town and see several contaminated locations that will be encountered in Early Access.
The game features 16-bit pixel art inspired by the Sega CD and Turbo Duo eras. It was developed by solo developer Matt Hackett, with pixel artist Alessandro Marani also participating in the visual work.
Early Access is a development phase leading to the official release, and Valadria and Acclaim plan to subsequently add new content, features, and convenience improvements, as well as conduct updates that incorporate user feedback.
The two companies are also exploring collaboration and licensing opportunities with other titles and are preparing for a full version and console release in the long term. The Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions are targeted for release in 2027.
Matt Hackett, CEO of Balladria, said, “I am really happy to be working with Acclaim. I was able to turn ‘Pixel Washers,’ which I had been developing alone, into a bigger and better game. I hope it becomes a game that is simple and comfortable to enjoy, yet keeps you coming back to it.”
‘Pixel Washers’ is available as a demo on Steam, allowing you to experience it before its official release.
