- Berlin-based indie trio Rednote Games’ debut title sails smoothly with 100% positive reviews.
- A healing game where you expand your ranch amidst Mediterranean scenery… Launching in Early Access in Q4 of this year
Berlin-based indie game studio Redknot Games has released the first demo of its cozy ranch building simulation game , Little Sheep Valley, on Steam.
‘Little Sheep Valley’ is a healing simulation game where you build your own ranch while tending to a flock of sheep against a backdrop of picturesque Mediterranean scenery.
My Own Mediterranean Ranch Built with a Flock of Sheep
Players can not only pet and shear the sheep but also run and play with them, forming a deep bond. Additionally, the game offers the fun of uniquely decorating the ranch using a variety of items such as fireplaces, awnings, and flower decorations.
It is also characterized by creating a relaxing atmosphere through charming and colorful third-person stylized graphics and soothing background music. It focuses on the leisurely ranch life itself rather than competition and tension, such as ending the day while watching sheep graze peacefully in the meadow at sunset.
As the ranch grows, you can construct new buildings and upgrade existing facilities. It is also possible to operate the ranch more efficiently by automating repetitive tasks. The key is not simply to expand the ranch, but to gradually develop the living space itself where you live with the sheep.
This demo was unveiled for free at the ‘Holsum Games Celebration’ held on the 6th. Since its release, it has gotten off to a smooth start, with all 25 Steam user reviews receiving positive ratings. The full version is targeted for a Steam Early Access release in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Warm colors and gentle sound… AI music excluded from the official version
As can be seen from the tags registered on Steam, ‘Little Sheep Valley’ is a game featuring keywords such as ‘Cute’, ‘Colorful’, ‘Atmospheric’, and ‘Relaxing’.
The Mediterranean-style natural environment bathed in intense sunlight harmonizes with colorful ranch buildings, emphasizing an overall warm and comfortable atmosphere. The stylized visuals, which portray characters and the environment in a simple yet distinctive way, also support the game’s cozy mood.
However, the currently released demo includes some AI-generated background music. The development team explained on their itch.io page that they utilized some AI-generated music during the prototype stage due to the nature of being a small development team.
At the same time, they announced plans not to use AI-generated content in the official version, and even if utilized in the future, it will be limited to a supplementary level. Accordingly, there is a possibility that some content in the current demo may change during the development of the Early Access and official versions.
Positive reaction from the first day of the demo release… attracting attention from international media as well.
Since its release on the 6th, the ‘Little Sheep Valley’ demo has recorded 25 Steam user reviews as of the time of writing, and with all of these reviews leaving positive ratings, it is recording a 100% positive rating rate.
Interest continued overseas as well. Various media outlets, including COGconnected, Games Press, Game-News.co.uk, LadiesGamers, and 247VideoGame, successively reported on the release of the demo and introduced the game.
In particular, it garnered attention for combining ranch management with an automation system while emphasizing comfortable and stress-free gameplay rather than high tension or competition. Additionally, the fact that it was created by a small three-person development team and the overall level of polish demonstrated during the demo phase were cited as positive evaluation factors.
‘Little Sheep Valley’ is a healing ranch simulation that focuses on the simple daily life with sheep and the beauty of Mediterranean-style scenery instead of flashy action or competition.
It is particularly noteworthy as the first project presented by three developers who formed a bond during their college days. With the first demo already receiving a positive response, attention is focused on how much Rednote Games will improve the game based on user feedback to raise its quality by the time it launches in Early Access in the fourth quarter of this year.
