    By Editorial Team2026년 05월 20일3 Mins Read

The Creators: Developed by domestic indie studio Phase 8 Studio (formerly known as Crezant) and published by Line Games.

Playtest Opportunity: The demo covering “Stage 1” is now live on Steam and the Epic Games Store, ahead of an on-site showcase at PlayX4 2026.

The Horizon: Following user feedback from the demo, the game is targeted for an Early Access launch in Q1 2027.

Psychological Dread Driven by Learning AI

CODE EXIT is set in a dystopian cityscape completely overrun by a rogue artificial intelligence. Players step into the boots of agents belonging to “Hermes,” a specialized investigative organization tasked with deploying into the infected zone to execute AI recovery missions and uncover the conspiracy behind the blackout.

Rather than leaning on predictable jump scares, the game focuses on delivering raw psychological pressure through two key technical pillars:

    • Adaptive Threat Engine: The game features an AI system that actively learns and adapts to player behavior in real time, preventing players from simply memorizing enemy patterns.
    • Dynamic Environments: The threat levels and structural dangers shift organically based on the decisions made by the player and their teammates.

    True Interdependent Cooperation

Designed for 1 to 4 players, CODE EXIT emphasizes strict interdependence where lone-wolf tactics lead to swift failure. Navigating the oppressive darkness requires close communication, fully supported by real-time in-game proximity voice chat.

Teams must carefully coordinate their movements to sweep high-tech facilities, pool resources, and solve environmental puzzles under constant surveillance from the rogue network.

    Hands-On Showcase at PlayX4

Capitalizing on the demo drop, Line Games will feature CODE EXIT prominently at the 2026 PlayX4 expo held at the Ilsan KINTEX from May 21 to May 24. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the co-op gameplay firsthand at the venue.

The gameplay trailer is currently available for viewing on Phase 8 Studio’s official YouTube channel.

“This demo is merely the starting point of the distinct brand of cooperative horror that CODE EXIT aims to deliver. Our goal is to craft an experience where, even after the credits roll, players will long discuss and share the heavy, lingering adrenaline of the survival moments they endured together with their comrades.”

    — Line Games Spokesperson.

The Code Exit demo is available to play on both Steam and the Epic Games Store . The gameplay trailer can be viewed on Phase 8 Studio’s official YouTube channel .
