‘2024 PlayX4’
This event will be held at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 in Goyang-si for four days until the 26th under the theme of ‘The Joy of Games and More!’, with approximately 600 game-related companies participating and more than 100,000 visitors, the most significant event ever and expected to do so. General visitors who have completed pre-registration can enter the ‘Hall 3’ entrance and view the exhibition hall without additional procedures.
Deputy Governor Kim Hyun-gon, Gyeonggi Provincial Council Economic and Labor Committee Chairman Kim Wan-gyu, numerous provincial council members, game company executives, and game association officials attended the opening ceremony.
Starting with a performance by the game music ensemble ‘Flasic’, the contents of ‘Gyeonggi-do, game, industry, culture, e-sports, opportunity, communication, future, festival’ were inputted based on the values calculated by artificial intelligence (AI). A video ceremony was presented. In addition, a particular Tekken match was held between Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs Kim Hyun-gon, Jeong Ji-hu, a disabled athlete, and Provincial Councilor Lee Jae-young, a knee athlete, drawing significant attention.
Kim Hyeon-gon, Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs, said, “Game developers have developed innovative games and developed to a world-class level despite prejudice and difficulties,” and added, “Gyeonggi Province will provide support for win-win cooperation and strengthening global competitiveness.”
5 Hall provides various benefits to developers through the game platforms ‘Stove Indie’ and ‘Steam’ and business matching to support small and medium-sized businesses’ overseas expansion. In addition, the Gyeonggi Game Audition, Future Technology (AI) Game Activation Forum, Metaverse Virtual Performance, Board Game Competition, Employment Information Session for a large game company, and Jeep Barnet lecture will continue until the weekend.
New games in various game fields, including console games, indie games, PC/mobile games, and arcade games, are introduced, and side events that all ages can enjoy without burden, such as nostalgic arcade and cosplay events, are also included.
In addition, the ‘Gyeonggi e-Sports Festival’ will be held simultaneously. It will feature matches between disabled and college amateur athletes and professional events such as ‘Eternal Return Season 3 Masters Final’, ‘Rainbow Six Siege Korea Open Classic’, and ‘Tekken 8 ATL Season 1’. Players are scheduled to compete against each other so that you can watch e-sports in person.
This event, which provides new experiences and opportunities for communication beyond the enjoyment of games, can be viewed through some programs on the SOOP ‘PlayX4 TV’ channel.
