Busan City (Mayor Park Hyeong-jun) announced that starting tomorrow (10th), the Busan Indie Connect Festival Organizing Committee (now referred to as BIC Organizing Committee) will be accepting entries for the ‘Busan Indie Connect Festival 2024 (from now referred to as BIC 2024)’ exhibition. ‘BIC 2024’ will be held at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1 in Busan for three days, from August 16th to 18th, and the online exhibition will be held from August 9th to 30th.
The submission of entries for this exhibition will be conducted in three categories: the competitive category, ▲General Category, ▲Rookie (Rookie) Category, and the non-competitive Category, ▲Connect Pick, ▲Public Indie, and ▲Invitation. The BIC 2024 exhibition consists of competitive sections (general, rookie) and non-competitive sections (connect pick, public indie, invitation, etc.), and the selected works are in general, rookie (rookie), and connect pick sections. Selected works receive various benefits, including providing a booth for exhibition.
The application period is ▲’General Category’ from the 10th to May 16th ▲’Rookie Category’ for students or unemployed people under the age of 25 from April 10th to June 19th ▲Domestic and foreign indie games ‘Connect Pick’, a non-competitive category selected by votes from people who like, runs from April 10 to May 28.
Works selected in the BIC 2024 competition section will be able to promote the game through the multilingual program. It is a real-time playback space (streaming booth) held at the BIC 2024 event venue and is an event that features real-time broadcasting and content filming.
Through this, creators can freely broadcast indie game-related content, and ‘BIC 2024’ collaborating institutions and organizations broadcast their production programs in real time to share various information related to the indie game industry, thereby promoting indie games. You can promote it.
Meanwhile, the BIC organizing committee said, “Game information registration can be freely modified during the application period, so it is recommended to register information in advance to reduce damage caused by many applications on the application deadline.”
The general and rookie categories must submit executable and compressed files, and Connect Pick must submit the gameplay video’s Internet address (link). Optionally, you can submit the released market Internet address (link) or a playable build file. Of course, the game build can also be changed during the application period.
Detailed registration information can be found on the BIC official website (www.bicfest.org). For other inquiries, please contact the BIC organizing committee by email (support@bicfest.org) or by phone (☎ 070—You can call 8855-5058).
City Culture and Sports Director Shim Jae-min said, “For the 10th ‘Busan Indie Connect Festival’ to be held successfully, the interest of indie game developers and participants is more important than anything else.” “I hope it will become a place for online and offline festivals,” he said.
