– Achieved 2 million cumulative sales across all platforms based on unique characters and exciting battle system
– Steam’s ‘Action Roguelike’ ranks first among the most popular products in the ‘Roguelike’ genre
It was announced on the 27th that the 2D action game ‘Skul,’ serviced by Neowiz (co-CEOs Seung-Cheol Kim and Tae-geun Bae) and developed by Southfor Games (CEO Sang-woo Park), has surpassed 2 million copies in cumulative global sales.
This is available on all platforms that service Skul, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and global PC game platforms Steam and Epic Games Store. This figure is a compilation of cumulative sales volume.
As of the 27th (today), Skull receives a ‘Very Positive’ rating of 93% from over 41,000 Steam user reviews and is Korea’s most popular product in the ‘Action Roguelike’ and ‘Roguelike’ genre games. It continues to be popular, ranking first. In particular, last November, the new DLC (expansion content) ‘Mythology Pack’ and ‘Demon Castle Defense,’ which allows users to experience battles with the new final boss, were released and are receiving favorable reviews from users by introducing unique themes and various new contents.
Skul is a side-scrolling action game in the rogue-lite genre where you can have fun strategically solving one-time opportunities. Based on the unique system of changing heads to transform into a new character and exciting action, it became the first Korean packaged indie game to achieve cumulative sales of 1 million copies in January last year, just one year after its official release.
Park Sang-woo, CEO of Southpaw Games, said, “I am pleased that the game quality and fun have been recognized through the cumulative sales of this Skul exceeding 2 million.” He added, “We will continue to make a lot of efforts to present unique and differentiated fun, so please look forward to it.” He said.
Meanwhile, Skul is holding a discount event on Steam to celebrate the end of the year. You can purchase the game at a 50% discount until January 19, 2024.
