    KOCCA, ‘Game Connection Europe 2022’ successfully operated the first Korean pavilion

    The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Park Bo-gyun) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (Chairman Hyun-Rae Cho, hereafter referred to as KOCCA) jointly participated in the international game B2B event ‘Game Connection Europe 2022 (GCE 2022)’ held in Paris, France from November 3 to 4 He said that the operation of the tube was successfully completed.

    Game Connection Europe is an international B2B event with over 1,500 developers, publishers, and suppliers participating yearly. KOCCA participated in the Korea Pavilion for the first time this year to promote the excellent competitiveness of local games and to expand the market to the global stage based on this.

    Participating companies include ▲Visuallight (Daejeon) ▲Soul Games (Gyeonggi) ▲Skywalk (Gyeonggi) ▲Studio VR (Gyeonggi) ▲Wide Brain (Jeonnam) ▲WeaverActive (Chungnam) ▲Flying Stone (Daegu). Company participated. Among them, Visual Light, Weaver Active, and Flying Stone are also tenants of Global Game Centers in Daejeon, Chungnam, and Daegu, operated by KOCCA, respectively.

    ◆ Proving the global competitiveness of local games in Korea. A total of 93 biz matches were completed.

    In this Korea Pavilion, various programs were held focusing on overseas export support, such as ▲biz matching consultation ▲networking parties and ▲local expert lectures. Various genres of games were introduced to overseas stakeholders, such as ▲Xsolla ▲505 Games ▲Société Générale, etc. As a result, a total of 93 business consultations were conducted at this event.

    On the 2nd, the day before the exhibition, a lecture by local experts was held for participating companies. Baek Jang-mi, CEO of Spanish game company Melbot Studio, provided local information to participating companies ahead of biz matching through a lecture on European game market trends. In addition, individual booths and local interpreters were provided for exhibition operation and export consultation, allowing smooth consultations with publishers and buyers around the world.

    In addition, KOCCA held a conference under the theme of ‘Regional game and e-sports industry promotion policies in Korea and France’ in cooperation with the Korean Embassy in France, KOCCA European Business Center, and Paris 15th ward office. Deputy Mayor Thierry Ragu, who was in charge of the conference presentation, said, “Through this conference, I would like to have various opportunities for collaboration with Korea, a game powerhouse, such as game development, developer exchange, and hosting of e-sports competitions.”
