    [Tumblbug] Voice/Messenger Anti-Phishing Game ‘Blue Messenger’

    ‘Blue Messenger’ is a light novel crime thriller messenger story game created to reduce the number of voice & messenger phishing victims. The crimes in this game are reproduced based on actual events.

    ‘Game Class’, which consists of a two-person indie development team with experience working in game development companies, has set the goal of ‘to make a game that is very beneficial to humans’ and developed a game based on phishing, which is causing a social problem.

    They say that although social evil cannot be completely prevented through the game, at least users who have experienced ‘Blue Messenger’ do not want to become victims of phishing.

    ‘Blue Messenger’ will finish crowdfunding in early August and will be officially released through the Google Play Store in mid-August.

    ◈ Synopsis

    The protagonist is an ordinary office worker who lost his wife in a subway fire accident three years ago and is raising his 15-year-old daughter alone. Then one day, he suddenly receives a picture of his daughter, who is being captured by a kidnapper, through a messenger. The main character is embarrassed and doesn’t know what to do… At that time, he gets a call from his dead wife’s messenger…

    The developer said that his mother experienced a phishing experience several years ago, and came to recognize that this phenomenon is a serious social problem. Recently, in the case of phishing scams, not only middle-aged and elderly victims, but also young people in their teens and 30s are constantly on the rise.

    Therefore, the developer wanted to inform about such phishing scam techniques and countermeasures through unconscious education through games rather than any other education. In addition, ‘Blue Messenger’ was designed with the intention of preventing phishing crimes by providing more fun and effective solutions through games.

    ◈ How to play the game

    The gameplay isn’t very difficult. In a messenger-type game, you have to overcome the risk of phishing by talking with virtual characters.

    If the main character selects the dialogue he wants to make while talking with the characters in the game, the reaction of the other character will change depending on the result, and the favorability will increase or decrease. Therefore, depending on the flow of the conversation selected by the gamer, the overall progress changes and you can see the endings of various branches.

    In the game, the protagonist can find clues and solve the game by using the documents, images, executable files, and gifticons they have.

    While the game is in progress, you receive a call like the screen above. It’s not a real phone call, so don’t panic.

    The main character’s narration appears frequently in the middle of the game. Gamers can get hints about the progress of the game while empathizing with the main character.

    Although it is a messenger game, you can earn game money by playing mini games in various places. Without money, the game is very difficult to progress, so do not miss out and complete the missions.

    While playing the game, you can enjoy the original drawings of the developer and high-quality illustrations created by the former art director.
