Every streamer knows the thrill of opening a mystery box on camera. Bet You Won’t asks what happens when one of those boxes was sent by a murderer. A free demo from TastyPotato, covering the prologue and Chapter 1, is now live on Steam. The full release date has not been announced.
The Streamer Who Has to Open the Killer’s Package
You play an unboxing streamer in a small town hit by a string of serial murders. Each day, packages arrive at your door, and you open them live. Then you realize you may be the killer’s next target. The Steam store page says the contents of the boxes grow stranger over time.
Some of the packages hide lethal traps, so deciding which box to open is the key to survival. A session begins when you go live and receive the day’s delivery. First, you work out which box is dangerous and survive it, then you gather clues tied to the case.
The investigation is the core of play: examining packages before opening them, using tools to reveal hidden traces, and printing out evidence to link it together.
Managing the Stream, Chasing Multiple Endings
The game features multiple streamers, each tied to a different story of death. Each death mystery has no single fixed solution, and the endings branch in several directions. If you die, a new streamer inherits the previous one’s last will and assets and continues the story.
Stream management matters too. Viewers enjoy sensational developments, and the donations they send can actually be used in the game. Collecting the strange toys that come out of the boxes is another hook.
Horror Content and Technical Details
According to the Steam page, written by the developer, the game includes blood, bodily mutilation, a threatening killer, and jump-scare moments. Further detail on the visual and audio presentation is not available in the materials released so far.
The game supports Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit).

TastyPotato is a small independent team making Bet You Won’t as its first game, and it handles both development and publishing itself. The Steam page supports English and Simplified Chinese; Korean is not among the supported languages. News and development updates are on the official Discord.
Who This Is For
Strong fit for: horror-investigation fans who like examining evidence and connecting clues; players drawn to streamer-culture settings and the idea of a game that turns an unboxing format into a threat; those who enjoy branching endings and unconventional “death inheritance” structures.
Cautious fit for: players sensitive to gore and jump scares, since the developer discloses blood, bodily mutilation, and sudden scares; anyone who needs a release date, price, or reviews before committing, since none are available yet; Korean-language players, as Korean is not supported.
Less ideal for: those wanting a polished, established release from a veteran studio; players who prefer horror without graphic content.
The Takeaway
Bet You Won’t takes a familiar internet ritual and gives it a deadly edge. Its mix of package inspection, evidence-linking, audience management, and inherited-death storytelling is an ambitious debut concept, and the free demo is the easiest way to judge whether the execution matches the premise. The prologue and Chapter 1 are available now.
Free demo on Steam (Prologue + Chapter 1). Release date TBA.
