A fallen enemy is only the first half of the job. Necromancer: Undead Legion RPG, from the one-person Korean studio Ancoach Studio, opened Google Play pre-registration on October 3. It is built around a simple loop: kill, raise, command, or detonate.
A Sequel Rebuilt from Zero
The game is the official successor to Necromancer RPG, which was named a Google Play “New Games We Love” pick in 2022. It is not an upgrade of the old game. The same solo developer planned and built it from the ground up, a rebuild that is drawing attention from indie enthusiasts.
The original launched on Android in 2022 and on iOS in 2023. According to the developer, it also ranked highly on the ONE Store and the App Store. The new game keeps the name and concept of its predecessor but shares no foundation with it.

Enemies Become Your Army
Combat centers on turning the corpses of defeated enemies into undead and growing a legion. The developer describes the core flow as defeating an enemy, raising it, then commanding it or blowing it up.
Players do not hang back and direct the army from the rear. You fight on the battlefield as the necromancer yourself, with a teleport to escape dangerous moments. Whether to spend corpses immediately to control the pace of a fight or save them for powerful attacks is a situational call.
Skeletons and zombies each field six standard unit types. Each branches into two elite forms, for 36 units in total. Players combine melee frontliners, ranged support, and crowd-control units into their own legion. Corpse explosions and a Reaper transformation that triggers in critical moments are the main tools for turning a losing fight around.
According to the store listing, leveling up minions also raises “Legion Resonance,” and higher resonance raises the number of undead you can command.

200 Stages and Runeword Gear
The game is structured as a labyrinth of 11 zones and 200 stages. Players break seals and endure steadily mounting pressure, and clearing stages quickly and cleanly earns higher ratings.
There are seven bosses in total. Their attack ranges are telegraphed on the floor, so dodging them is the player’s responsibility.
Weapons, armor, and accessories drop with varied affixes and sockets. Players can collect 19 rune types and combine three runes into any of 10 runewords. The blacksmith can reroll equipment or convert it into different forms.

Optional Rebirth and a Bridge Defense Mode
Rebirth is never forced. When players choose to reincarnate, they carry over tombstones and the power of their past life, starting the next run stronger and aiming to push deeper than before. The store page frames the game as a dark fantasy action RPG with roguelite-style challenge.
A separate Bridge Defense mode has players use turrets, altars, and the undead legion to hold a bridge against nighttime sieges. An optional auto-hunt feature helps with farming. The developer notes that boss fights and build construction still require the player’s own judgment.

Who This Is For
Strong fit for: players who enjoy necromancer fantasies built around minion management; mobile action RPG fans who like gear farming, sockets, and runewords; roguelite-leaning players who want rebirth to be a choice rather than a forced loop; anyone who followed the original game and wants to see what a ground-up rebuild looks like.
Cautious fit for: players who dislike free-to-play structures with in-app purchases; anyone who needs a release date or reviews before committing (neither exists yet); iOS and PC players, since only Android is confirmed.
Less ideal for: players who want a premium, one-time-purchase experience; those who prefer purely hands-off auto-battlers, since boss fights and builds require active decisions.

The Takeaway
Solo mobile development rarely gets a second chance at a hit, and Necromancer: Undead Legion RPG is Ancoach Studio’s attempt to take one. The stated design has depth where it counts: 36 undead units, 19 runes, 10 runewords, 7 telegraphed bosses, and a Legion Resonance system that ties minion growth to army size. Whether it holds together as one developer’s rebuild will only be clear once a release date and real player feedback arrive.
For now, pre-registration is open on Google Play, with 600 gems waiting for those who sign up early.
Pre-registration is open on Google Play (Android). Release date TBA.
