Beaver Workers’ Survival Battle, ‘Wood Goes BRRR’ Revealed

    By Editorial Team2026년 09월 08일4 Mins Read
    • Cute Beavers’ Fierce Workplace Life… The Charm of Cooperation and Competition
    • Produce wood to meet your quota… If you fail, face off against a teammate in the arena.

Indie game developer PixelGuse and publisher Derevo Games have unveiled the Steam store page and official teaser video for their new 1-4 player cooperative party game , Wood Goes BRRR .

‘Wood Goes BRRR’ is a game about the harsh survival of beaver workers who must meet weekly quotas under an angry ‘Beaver Boss’. Players must join forces with their teammates to maximize profits by managing dams and growing and processing timber, and failure to meet performance targets results in a terrifying penalty of ‘total dismissal’.

What catches the eye above all is the unique redemption system. Beavers who fail to meet the objective are dragged into the arena to engage in a brutal battle royale where they must defeat one another. The cruel premise, offering a surprising twist contrasting with their cute appearance, is the game’s key selling point.

The official release date for ‘Wood Goes BRRR’ is still undecided, and wishlist registration has started on Steam.

Grow trees, gnaw, and sell… If you don’t meet the quota, you’re sent to the arena.

Players must grow various types of trees, process them into timber, and sell them to secure the necessary revenue. Before work begins, teams can directly select the contracts they will undertake, and each contract comes with different requirements, which changes the way the game is played.

Team members use a shared bank, where they can invest the money earned into workbenches and upgrades, or use it for gambling. Funds earned within the game are also credited to an out-of-game account. This can be used to open chests containing cosmetic items.

If quotas are not met, teammates ultimately fight each other in the arena for their jobs. Although goals must be achieved through cooperation, the structure allows for both teamwork and betrayal to occur simultaneously, such as by using a colleague’s money to gamble when necessary.

According to the Steam page, the basic gameplay involves growing trees, gnawing them into logs, transporting them, and selling them to penguins who buy wood. A casino is also featured as a means to quickly meet quotas, but a new rule has been added stating that you could be kicked out of the team if caught gambling with a teammate’s money.

Physics-based comedy created by cute beavers

‘Wood Goes BRRR’ is a game that features elements such as Cute, Stylized, First-Person, Casual, Simulation, Physics, and Funny based on Steam tags.

The game adopts a first-person perspective, offering satisfying physical interactions such as directly gnawing on trees and carrying logs. Furthermore, the core fun of this game lies in the process of all sorts of random, unexpected events unfolding in the forest intertwining and turning into chaos.

The beaver character customization elements, which allow you to show off your individuality, also catch the eye. You can customize your own beaver using various colors and outfit sets, and the system is humorously designed so that even if you cannot avoid being fired by the boss, you can maintain your own style until the very last moment.

A Horror Specialist Publisher’s Unique Co-op Comedy Challenge

Developer PixelGuse has released ‘Dimmed Light,’ a survival horror game set in an abandoned factory. The game is reported to have received ‘mostly positive’ reviews on Steam following its release in September 2025.

Publisher Derevo Games is also a publishing label that has mainly dealt with horror, survival horror, immersive sim, and sci-fi genres.

For this reason, ‘Wood Goes BRRR’, which bills itself as a cooperative comedy game with a bright and cheerful atmosphere, is attracting attention as a new title that shows a significantly different direction compared to the existing works of both companies.

‘Wood Goes BRRR’ is a game that wears the mask of a tycoon where you peacefully cut down trees to meet your quota, but has a strange and charming structure where you must aim at your friend’s neck the moment you fail.

Given that poisonous elements of ‘competition’ and ‘betrayal’ have been embedded within the close-knit teamwork-based cooperative gameplay, expectations are high for a hilarious commotion involving the destruction of friendships to unfold after the actual release.

The game’s official release date is currently undecided, and you can add it to your wishlist on Steam to receive the latest updates quickly.
