My Own House Starting from an Empty Camper Van
Outbound is set in a near-future utopia where sustainable energy has become part of everyday life. Players build their own mobile home based on an empty electric campervan, travel the world, and lead a free life.
You can generate electricity and operate vehicles using solar panels, wind turbines, and hydroelectric power, and freely customize the interior and exterior of the campervan using a modular building system. You can create a small farm on the roof or place furniture and decorations, and it is also possible to adopt pets at the in-game Paws & Whiskers Lodge.
You can enjoy a leisurely solo trip in the game, or enjoy online cooperative play with up to four people.
Updates to fishing and collection content… Building freedom also expanded
The highlight of this fishing update is the new fishing system added throughout the game.
Players can explore four biomes and catch a total of 32 types of fish. Fishing rods are categorized into three grades and must be utilized according to the specific waters of each region; caught fish can be recorded in a journal to complete a collection or displayed in an aquarium to serve as interior decorations.
The development team explained that they designed this system as content centered on collection and decoration, rather than simple survival elements.
The building capabilities have also been significantly expanded. Six types of stairs that allow for the creation of multi-story structures and four types of doors that separate spaces have been newly added, and new exploration bases called “Fisherman’s Huts” appear throughout the world, adding to the fun of exploration.
Consistent updates amidst mixed reviews… “Mostly positive “
Early in the game’s release, reviews were somewhat mixed as disappointment was raised regarding the amount of content and the repetitive crafting system.
Although the development team faced some controversy while responding to negative reviews, they have since revised their stance and are continuing with updates while focusing on multiplayer stabilization, UI improvements, and bug fixes.
Reviews from overseas media are relatively positive. TierraGamer gave it a score of 75, praising its calm building system and free exploration, while But Why Tho highlighted its beautiful scenery and relaxed gameplay vibe as strengths. On the other hand, TechRadar noted that the repetitive gathering and crafting processes could feel somewhat monotonous during long play sessions.
The game maintains a ‘mostly positive’ rating on Steam based on approximately 1,500 user reviews and is building a foundation for long-term service through consistent content updates.
