A hand-drawn scene of a Korean elementary school in 1999, without AI

Come to My Party! is a black comedy visual novel set in a Korean elementary school in 1999. From the perspective of the protagonist, the player encounters social relationships and emotions that anyone would likely have experienced at least once during childhood, such as class elections, peer relationships, and family issues.

The work is characterized by pixel graphics, hand-drawn art, emotional storytelling, and a multi-ending structure. Particularly eye-catching is the fact that all visuals were created by hand without AI generation.

Developer Yoon Sim-sang is an artist who has been active in the fields of visual art and commercial illustration for over 10 years, collaborating with various companies including SM Entertainment, HYBE, Lotte, Kakao, and Devsisters. This experience is fully reflected in the hand-drawn pixel art throughout the game.

The sound design also focused on recreating the atmosphere of Korean elementary schools in the 1990s. It evokes the sentiments of that era by meticulously capturing everything from the noisy sounds of classrooms and the liveliness of the playground during recess to the silence of empty classrooms after school.

The story of Jimin, the middle daughter who dreams of becoming class president and having a birthday party

The game adopts a multi-ending structure where character relationships and the conclusion change depending on the player’s choices. A total of 12 endings are available, and it unfolds universal coming-of-age narratives, such as the subtle psychology of peer groups and family conflicts, with a sense of humor and black comedy.

The protagonist, Jimin, is the middle daughter who always wears hand-me-down clothes from her older sister and stays somewhat out of the family’s attention. Striving to find her own presence between her model student older sister and her beloved youngest brother, Jimin’s dream is to become class president and throw her own birthday party.

Jimin grows as he forms relationships with various friends, including the shy Eunji and the mysterious Daeun. The game is designed to allow players to directly experience the memories and sentiments of that era by adding various mini-games inspired by the daily lives of Korean children in 1999.

World premiere at Summer Game Fest

Come to My Party! was unveiled for the first time in the world at the Summer Game Fest 2026 Women-Led Games Showcase. The showcase was broadcast jointly by major gaming media and platforms such as IGN, GameSpot, and The Game Awards, and was introduced alongside various highly anticipated titles including ‘Soulframe’ and ‘We Were Here Tomorrow’.

This title is also drawing attention as the first achievement of LINE Games’ ongoing expansion of its PC game lineup. The company is reportedly planning to release additional PC titles in the future, such as ‘Ember and Blade’ and ‘Hamster Talk’.

Since the release of the demo, the Steam community has been giving positive feedback on improvements to user convenience, such as the addition of save and load functions, a revamped ‘story map’ in the form of a flowchart, and the introduction of a choice hint feature.

With its unique setting of a Korean elementary school in 1999, hand-drawn pixel art that does not use AI, and a growth narrative that everyone can relate to, ‘Come to My Party!’ is attracting attention in the global visual novel market as a work with distinctive appeal.

Attention is focused on whether this work, which explores childhood memories, peer relationships, and family conflicts with the cheerful yet bittersweet sensibility characteristic of black comedy, will be able to capture the hearts of visual novel fans both at home and abroad.
