    UK publisher Slug Disco Studios is the indie game studio enoom’s The circuit assembly roguelike ‘Retroneer’ was officially announced on April 27, along with the release of its Steam page.

    Retroneer is a puzzle-based roguelike game where you challenge the secrets of ‘Amplitude’ by combining various parts and modules to complete circuits and solve increasingly complex conditions. It is easily accessible with intuitive controls, yet depends on combinations and optimization. You can experience the fun of intricate strategies that create higher scores and powerful combinations.

    Retroneer is a puzzle circuit-assembly roguelike where players combine various components to complete circuits and create powerful synergies. Players take on the role of Retroneer, crafting circuits and optimizing designs to uncover the secrets hidden within the heart of Amplitude.

    You can enjoy simple yet deep resource management gameplay by combining game-changing Trinkets, powerful modules, and your own problem-solving skills.

    The core system, ‘RIFF (Runner Integration Functional Frame),’ is a modular circuit structure in which multiple Runners operate together. Players must configure circuits based on RIFF and satisfy the layout and energy output requirements demanded by the customer. As the game progresses, the requirements become increasingly complex, making strategic judgment crucial in the process of resolving them.

    Easy yet deep… Designed for ‘accessible depth’

    Retroneer’s core design philosophy lies in “Approachable Depth.” With a minimal and intuitive system, you can understand and enjoy the game within minutes, yet the depth of strategy and synergy is significant. Every choice influences the outcome, and the quality of optimization directly impacts gameplay performance.

    Players must cleverly utilize all tools, including modules, trinkets, runners, scrap, and frames. Detailed sounds, such as clicks and mechanical noises, are added during the process of assembling circuits, enhancing immersion.

    Ant RTS Developer Slug Disco Expands Publishing into New Genre

    Slug Disco is an indie game developer and publisher founded in the UK in 2014, and is famous for the ant colony strategy simulation ‘Empires of the Undergrowth’.

    Since then, the company has expanded its publishing portfolio by releasing various nature-themed indie games, such as The Ember Guardian, Primordial Empire, and Green Again. Retroneer is a new endeavor by Slug Disco to expand into the puzzle and roguelike genres, and it is also significant in that it introduces enoom’s debut title to the world.

    The game is scheduled for release on Steam in 2027, and playtesting will be conducted throughout 2026. You can currently apply to participate in the playtest on the Steam page.
