- The debut work of solo developer Kimera Forge… Arcade action set in Dante’s ‘Inferno’
- The perfect trifecta of Bullet Hell combat, boss fights, and build composition; Wishlist open with release date TBD
Kimera Forge, an indie developer founded by Italian solo developer Davide Altamura, has officially announced ‘SinsKiller,’ an isometric action arcade shooter inspired by the Italian classic literature ‘La Divina Commedia’ by Dante Alighieri, and has opened a Steam page.
The game depicts the journey of a protagonist, a former legendary battle mage, as he wipes out hordes of demons, confronts powerful bosses, faces his own sins, and moves toward salvation. It is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2027, and the official trailer has been released on YouTube. It is currently available for wishlisting on Steam.
A tragedy brought about by forbidden magic… A journey to hell
The protagonist, once a legendary battle mage, commits the tragedy of destroying the soul of his loved one by using forbidden magic. Bound to hell as punishment, he descends into the endless abyss of hell in search of salvation.
During the journey, the player is accompanied by a mysterious energy sphere, which embodies Virgil, the guide of Hell in the Divine Comedy. He acts as a guide, leading the player to the next stage in each circle of Hell.
The enemies appearing in each circle of hell are not merely monsters, but are depicted as beings embodying the sins of the protagonist. It is characterized by an approach that reinterprets the structure of classical literature into the language of arcade action.
Hell reinterpreted as dark fantasy… Chaos from an isometric perspective
Sins Killer has realized a visual world that reinterprets Dante’s Inferno into a unique dark fantasy. Each zone is themed around a different sin, and accordingly, the forms of enemies, combat styles, and even the atmosphere are all differentiated. The arena battles, unfolding from an isometric perspective, are presented in a Bullet Hell style where hordes of demons and bullet patterns fill the screen.
Hell consists of a total of nine zones, and the environment and threats become increasingly intense as you descend. With intense visuals and some violent content, the game is classified as adult content.
Reaction speed and strategy are key… a combination of boss and build
Sinskiller’s combat is designed as a skill-driven system that demands quick reactions and precise controls. Players must break through massive enemy offensives through movement, timing, and accurate attacks.
Additionally, you must shape your playstyle with powerful Vows, Relics, and Elemental Spells, create destructive combinations, and adapt your build to fit each circle. Player choices directly impact the game, and great power inevitably comes with associated risks.
The ruler of each circle appears in a unique boss form. Symbolizing sin, they present players with high-difficulty combat through complex patterns and powerful attacks. The key is to analyze patterns, withstand attacks, and counterattack at the precise timing.
A challenge that turns Italian classic literature into a game
Kimera Forge is an indie studio presenting its debut title, Sinskiller, through self-development and self-publishing. Its challenging concept, which bases the game’s narrative on Dante’s *Divine Comedy*—a classic of Italian literature—is drawing attention.
The design, which faithfully transforms the core structure of the original work—Dante’s nine circles of hell, the presence of the guide Virgil, and the personification of sin—into game mechanics, can be interpreted as an attempt to create a unique worldview for the work that goes beyond a simple homage.
The game supports 11 language interfaces, including Korean, and targets the global market. It operates official channels on Discord, YouTube, Bluesky, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn.
