K-Indie ‘Pebble Knights’ Strikes Gold on Steam, Dominating Global Charts

    By Editorial Team2026년 04월 15일Updated:2026년 04월 16일3 Mins Read

SEOUL – Fifty-One Percent (51% Games), a South Korean indie development studio, announced today that its cooperative action roguelike Pebble Knights is seeing significant global traction following its Early Access debut on Steam. Launched on April 13, the title has quickly climbed the rankings in major markets, signaling a strong start for the K-indie newcomer.

Surging Player Counts and Sales Rankings

Since its release at 7:00 PM KST on April 13, Pebble Knights has maintained a steady upward trajectory in all key performance metrics. After being featured in Steam’s “Popular Upcoming” section, the game successfully transitioned to the “Popular New Releases” spotlight on the global storefront.

The commercial response has been particularly strong in the Asian market. As of April 15, the game ranked in the Top 30 of Steam’s “Top Sellers” (by revenue) in South Korea and broke into the Top 20 in China. Player engagement is also rising; after peaking at 1,500 concurrent users on day one, the count exceeded 1,800 players by the second day, a rare feat for a niche indie title.

A Unique Blend of Survival and Cooperation

The game sets itself apart with its 1-to-5 player cooperative structure, allowing larger friend groups than the standard 4-player co-op cap found in most titles.

    • The Premise: Players take the role of a King or elite knights defending the “Pebble Kingdom” against the encroaching “Hell Mold” legion.
    • Day/Night Cycle: The gameplay follows a rhythmic loop. During the Day, players must work together to gather minerals and fortify defenses. Once the sun sets, the game shifts into a high-intensity Survival Defense mode where players must fend off waves of fungal invaders.
    • Expanded Content: The Early Access version features the new “Underworld” region, boasting 23 unique bosses and 18 interactive event rooms, providing substantial depth for hardcore roguelike fans.

    Proven Potential and Industry Recognition

The success of Pebble Knights did not come out of nowhere. The game first caught the industry’s attention at the Beaver Rocks 2025 Indie Game Festival at DDP Seoul, where it received the RAZER Special Award for its intuitive gameplay and polished cooperative mechanics.

Furthermore, its Tumblbug crowdfunding campaign reached 146% of its goal, backed by a loyal domestic fan base. This momentum, combined with the studio’s experience in mobile hits like Spin Break and BingBing Knights, has paved the way for a successful PC debut.

To bolster its reach in the Chinese market, Fifty-One Percent partnered with publisher Phoenix Games, a move that has clearly paid off, given the game’s high ranking on the Chinese Steam charts.

    Launch Promotion and Future Outlook

“We are thrilled with the initial response and are committed to refining the experience alongside our community,” said a representative from Fifty-One Percent. The studio plans to use the Early Access period—estimated to last several months—to balance character builds and add further endgame content based on player feedback.

Pebble Knights is currently available on Steam with a 10% launch discount running until April 28, 2026.
