Pre-registration Begins for ‘2026 PlayXpo’, the Largest Game Show in the Capital Region

    By Editorial Team2026년 04월 03일Updated:2026년 04월 10일3 Mins Read
    • Held from May 21 to 24, pre-registration begins in April
    • With an increase in the number of participating companies compared to the previous year, the exhibition is expected to showcase a rich lineup.

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 3rd that it is conducting pre-registration for visitors ahead of the hosting of the ‘2026 PlayXpo,’ the largest convergence game show in the metropolitan area, in May.

PlayXpo, held at Goyang KINTEX for four days from May 21 to 24, is a comprehensive game show featuring various genres including console, arcade, PC, mobile, and indie games. With an increased number of participating companies compared to the previous year, it is expected to showcase an even richer exhibition lineup.

Major companies such as Nimble Neuron and Daewon Media will operate large-scale experience zones and joint arcade booths to provide visitors with even more diverse on-site experiences. In the gaming gear sector, Danawa, Korea’s largest specialized price comparison site, is also scheduled to provide a large-scale on-site promotion space.

On the B2C stage, various game tournaments such as ‘Taiko no Tatsumi Korea Championship 2026 Kuntak Tournament’, ‘BEMANI Master Korea’, ‘PUMP IT UP DOMINION’, and ‘PLATiNA :: LAB Arena’ will be held, and new game announcements from major game companies and random live performances of subculture OSTs will be prepared.

This year, the ‘PLAY HERO’ campaign is being promoted to redefine visitors as players and heroes who have a positive impact on society and to strengthen the public nature and social value of the event as a whole. Events will be held, including the ‘Hero Respect Project,’ which offers free admission to soldiers, police officers, and firefighters; the ‘Hero HP Share Campaign,’ which encourages participation by reinterpreting blood donation as the concept of HP (life points) in a game; and the ‘Hero Clean Shot Challenge,’ which encourages visitors’ voluntary environmental practices by turning recycling into a mini-game.

In addition, amateur esports tournaments will be held in which various groups, including university students, people with disabilities, and families, can participate, and recruitment of participants will begin in mid-April. Following last year, popular esports tournaments such as the opening round of the ‘Korea esports league (KEL)’ Eternal Return and the StarCraft ASL Season 21 finals will be held on the stage of the Gyeonggi esports festival this year as well.

Pre-registration for PlayXpo visitors will take place via Naver Reservation from April 1 to May 15. Purchasing a 3,000 won pre-registration ticket allows for unrestricted entry throughout the event period; it is cheaper than on-site registration (1-day pass: 10,000 won for adults, 6,000 won for youth) and offers fast entry without a separate registration process. Additionally, recruitment for additional booths for the Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings, as well as applications for the Business Lounge and online exhibitors, are currently underway.

More details can be found on the official PlayXPo website ( www.playx4.or.kr ).
