    The largest global indie game festival ever, ‘BIC2024’ opens on the 16th

    Busan Metropolitan City, Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, and Busan Indie Connect Festival Organizing Committee (now BIC Organizing Committee) announced that they will hold ‘Busan Indie Connect Festival 2024 (BIC Festival 2024, from now BIC Festival 2024)’ on August 16th.

    The ‘BIC Festival 2024’, now in its 10th year, will showcase the largest exhibition ever. The number of entries received has increased by 20% compared to the previous year, recording the most significant number ever, and the number of works on display has also increased by approximately 21% compared to last year. 245 domestic and international indie game works from 27 countries will be exhibited at the event.

    BIC Festival 2024 first released the festival map and event details on the official YouTube channel UNIVERSE-INDIE on the 8th. In addition, it plans to reach out to the audience in various ways, such as providing a Live Indie real-time streaming service during the offline event and uploading videos of BIC 2024 selected works being played.

    In addition, the BIC Organizing Committee aspires to transform the BIC Festival into a global festival where overseas indie game fans and industry professionals can come together, beyond a simple Korean indie game festival, with the participation of BIC Festival partners such as Taipei Game Show, BitSummit, WePlay, Singapore Game Association, and Gamescom Asia.

    The offline exhibition of ‘BIC Festival 2024’ will be held three days from August 16th to 18th. The 16th is a business day and is not open to the general public, and the 17th and 18th, which are weekends, will be festival days consisting of full-scale exhibitions and experience events.

    ‘BIC Festival 2024’ will begin with an opening ceremony on the 16th to deliver a message of support to all indie game developers and will continue with a rich schedule until the 18th, including a closing ceremony and awards ceremony. In addition, online events will be held, and you can enjoy an online exhibition on the BIC Festival official website until August 30th.

    BIC Festival Organizing Committee Chairman Seo Tae-geon said, “I am happy and honored that the event has continued for the 10th time thanks to the interest and love for the BIC Festival.” He added, “We have also worked hard to welcome visitors with various indie games and events this year. I hope you will continue to watch with interest and love for the next 10th time.”
