– KOCCA-Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled jointly developed six episodes of game accessibility education content for the disabled
– Provided free of charge through the online education platform Educoka—to spread barrier-freeness within the industry.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yoo In-chon) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (President Cho Hyun-rae, from now on referred to as KOCCA), together with the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled (Chairman Cho Hyang-hyeon, from now on referred to as KOCCA), provide educational content related to game accessibility for the disabled through the online education platform ‘EDUKOCCA.’ It was released on the 15th.

In November 2021, KOCCA signed a business agreement with the corporation to improve awareness of people with disabilities and jointly develop content. Last year, we jointly developed eight rounds of barrier-free education content, including ▲ introducing the barrier-free concept ▲ , barrier-free types and status ▲ legal regulations for barrier-free services ▲ , and exploration of barrier-free-related occupations.

◆ Development of barrier-free content such as game accessibility status, cases, and design plans

This year, under the theme of ‘Game Accessibility for the Disabled,’ educational content was introduced to spread barrier-free awareness in the growing gaming industry and improve game accessibility for the disabled. It consists of 6 pieces of content, including ▲the Status of game accessibility ▲, Representative cases of game accessibility ▲, and a Design plan for game accessibility for the disabled. It can be found on the online education platform Educoka, which KOCCA operates.

In addition, both organizations are developing this content and producing sign language subtitles for Educoka’s previously developed educational content by genre/field, such as ▲AI services and content ▲understanding indie games ▲actual production of one-person content, thereby contributing to the content industry. We are also leading in spreading barrier-free technology and realizing ESG values.

◆ Educoka provides 700 free content lectures that anyone can quickly learn

Meanwhile, KOCCA operates Educoka, an online education platform that provides a variety of lectures across the content industry, including broadcasting, games, performances, and comics, under the slogan ‘K-content that anyone can easily learn.’ It offers over 700 lectures free of charge, including ▲basic education such as job search for prospective content talent ▲and in-depth courses to strengthen the capabilities of working professionals. It has an average of over 30,000 users per year.

“We hope that the development of this educational content will serve as an opportunity to improve barrier-free awareness within the industry,” said Yoo Yun-ok, head of KOCCA’s content-based division. “We will strive to contribute to realizing the ESG value of the content industry through continued cooperation between the two organizations.”.
