The ‘2023 Indie Game Startup Festival’, where promising Korean indie games can be seen, will be held at COEX Hall A in Seoul for three days starting September 25th.
The ‘2023 Indie Game Startup Festival, which will be held for the first time this year, is co-hosted by the Korea Indie Game Association (Chairman Choi Hoon) and GD Net Korea (CEO Kim Kyung-mook) and is designed to promote and exchange the indie game ecosystem internally and externally.
This event will be held simultaneously with Korea’s largest specialized digital innovation expo, ‘Korea Digital Future Innovation 2023’, jointly by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Presidential Digital Platform Government Committee.
The Korea Indie Game Association supports the recruitment of participating teams and participation in booths at exhibition events so that games can be displayed and promoted at events. Many prominent participating teams applied in the pre-recruitment process and 22 indie game entries were selected through strict screening based on completeness, game quality, and competitiveness.
Recently, domestic indie games have been recognized for their competitiveness in the global market and are evaluated as a future food source that will lead the development of the K game industry. Through this opportunity, the innovative works of indie game developers and teams (individuals) responsible for the grassroots of the Korean game industry are expected to become widely known to the public.
An official from the association said, “We will do our best to ensure that this event is diverse and rich.” Admission to the ‘2023 Indie Game Startup Festival’ is through viewing the ‘Korea Digital Future Innovation 2023’ exhibition or on-site registration. You can apply for pre-registration for general or group viewing through the ‘ Korea Digital Future Innovation 2023 website ’.
