Indie game developer Kogu (CEO Sang-pil Moon) announced that it would start crowdfunding for ‘TOBOR,’ a game about hallucinations and psychological horrors taking place in CCTVs, through the domestic crowdfunding site Tumblbug.
‘TOBOR’ is a game where you become a small robot spy in the deep sea and observe and eavesdrop on the surroundings with CCTV. You must monitor the main targets in the game and collect the clues necessary to infer their hidden secrets. The hallucinatory state that occurs in the process of observing and eavesdropping conveys an exotic and terrifying atmosphere. It is characterized by the fact that gamers must never intervene in what is happening on CCTV because they must faithfully perform the role of a robot spy.
This crowdfunding, which will be held from April 12th, is planned to introduce the game ‘TOBOR’ scheduled to be released in the second half of 2023 and to deliver the fun of making games together for users. The fundraising goal is 5 million won, and the donation will be used to produce additional contents and goods to be provided as rewards.
The limited edition rewards for funding backers are diversely composed of digital rewards and physical rewards. Rewards include a steam key, steam soundtrack, postcard set, sticker set, metal badge, smart talk, art book, in-game poster design right, in-game TV commercial design right, in-game spy design right, in-game nightmare design right, etc…
Director Na Seong-yoon, who is developing the game, said, “We have created a product to give backers the fun of creating in-game content together.” All sponsors’ nicknames are also given the benefit of being listed on the game credits. The composition of the reward varies depending on the amount of donation and is prepared in various configurations from 10,000 won to 1 million won. Physical rewards will be delivered in August, and digital rewards will be delivered in November in line with the game’s release.
Crowdfunding of ‘TOBOR’ can be participated until May 12th on the ‘ Tober Tumblr Page. ‘
