The ‘2025 Global Indie Game Development Competition (GIGDC 2025),’ which has established itself as a gateway for domestic indie game developers, has opened its doors to entries from June 30th (Sunday), and has once again opened its doors to the public this year.

GIGDC is an indie game production contest sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency, and organized by the Korea Game Developers Association. It aims to discover creative and original game content, promote indie game production culture, and expand the base of the domestic game industry.

Under the slogan, “Create Game, Hello World! – Connect imagination to reality, with games!”, the 2025 competition will seek out promising talents who will lead the next-generation game industry among creative indie game developers from around the world.

This year, winners will be selected in five categories, including three production categories and two planning categories, and the grand prize winner in each category will receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award. In particular, the total prize money has been significantly increased this year, which is expected to provide even stronger motivation to indie developers participating in the contest.

In addition to the prize money, winners will be provided with comprehensive support through GIGDC’s representative follow-up support program, the ‘Winner Capacity Building Program’, including ▲training by development and service experts ▲customized mentoring ▲production of interview videos ▲practical training necessary for entering the global game market.

This proves that GIGDC is more than just a simple contest; it serves as a practical stepping stone for indie game developers to advance into the domestic market as well as the global market.

Applications will be accepted from June 30th (Sunday) to July 14th (Sunday) at 2:00 PM. For more information and to apply, please visit the official website (www.gigdc.or.kr).
