• Indie game anticipated ‘Monowave’, crowdfunding launch on June 5th at 6 PM
  • Offering a wealth of rewards, from game keys and beta test tickets to game pads and neon sign stands
  • Winner of the Gyeonggi Game Audition, selected for the Korean Joint Pavilion at Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show, and countdown to debut on the global stage

Indie game developer Studio BBB (CEO Kwon-Young Lim) will begin accepting applications for their highly anticipated game ‘MONOWAVE’ through the crowdfunding platform Tumblbug from 6 PM on June 5th.

This funding, which was selected as a ‘notable project’ after over 500 applicants for the funding open notification, is expected to receive great attention from domestic gamers as it follows the work’s proven quality and topicality by winning the Gyeonggi Game Audition in May.

This funding round’s backers will receive a full version game key, digital OST, and beta test participation rights as digital rewards, and the stickers, key rings, badges, and T-shirts that were much loved at the game show will be provided as physical rewards. In addition, special goods such as a long pad, cushion, and neon sign stand that are being introduced for the first time in this round have been prepared.

In addition, there is a benefit for early bird (first-come, first-served) backers to receive some rewards at a discounted price. In addition, stretch goals will be set up to unlock additional rewards depending on the amount of support, adding to the fun of funding.

Previously, ‘Monowave’ won the 20th Gyeonggi Game Audition final audition held at the PlayX4 seminar hall on May 24th, receiving rave reviews from the judges and audience evaluation panel. Through this, they were able to secure a prize of 50 million won and further accelerate their game development.

Studio BBB’s global competitiveness is also noteworthy. ‘Monowave’ was selected for the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA)’s overseas game market support project, and will participate in the Korean joint pavilion at ‘Gamescom 2025’ held in Cologne, Germany in August and ‘Tokyo Game Show 2025’ held in Japan in September.

This is a great achievement following the fact that they proved their international potential by being the only Korean game company to win the Indie Game Award at the ‘Taipei Game Show 2025’ earlier this year. The industry’s attention is hot as they started as a college student team and are quickly achieving these results.

Studio BBB CEO Lim Kwon-young said, “I am very happy and excited to meet the fans who have been waiting for ‘Monowave’ through Tumblbug funding right after winning the Gyeonggi Game Audition. I will do my best to present well-made gameplay with the support you have sent me. I want to create a special journey to complete the game together with my supporters through funding.”

‘Monowave’ is a puzzle action adventure game currently in development by Studio BBB. It features the emotion guardian spirit ‘Mono’ utilizing the four emotions of happiness, sadness, anger, and anxiety, and solving various puzzle gimmicks by utilizing the ’empathy system’ that exchanges emotions with those around you through song.

‘Monowave’ of Studio BBB, founded mainly by Sogang University students, has been recognized for its playability by winning awards at major domestic game competitions such as ‘MWU Korea Award 2023’, ‘2024 Indie Craft’, and ‘GIGDC 2024’ hosted by Unity Korea. In addition, it has been actively communicating with domestic gamers and collecting feedback by consistently participating in major domestic game events such as Play Expo, Busan Indie Connect Festival (BIC), and G-STAR.

‘Monowave’ is in the final stages of development, aiming for a PC platform release later this year, and is also working on console porting to Nintendo Switch and Xbox platforms. Studio BBB plans to do its best to successfully complete this Tumblbug funding and provide deep emotion and fun to gamers at home and abroad.
