Smilegate’s global game platform ‘Stove’ announced on Wednesday the 1st that it will be holding a special festival for indie game creators, ‘Indie Highlight Festival (hereinafter referred to as In.Ha.Pe),’ for the month of October.
Last year, “Inha.Pe” launched by highlighting excellent domestic indie games, and this year, it will spotlight unique indie games from Taiwanese creators. Stove will provide a digital festival venue for Taiwanese creators to showcase their unique games to Stove’s global users. Furthermore, it will provide opportunities for user interaction and other tangible outcomes.
During the festival, Stove will offer a special opportunity for approximately 20,000 users to experience nine Taiwanese indie games. This lineup includes titles that showcase the creativity and sophistication of Taiwanese indie games, such as “Rhythm Witch: Dances with Death,” which has been acclaimed for its exquisite blend of rhythm and roguelike elements; “Valkyrie: Breakthrough,” which has garnered attention for its outstanding graphics and illustrations; and “Qube Qross,” a sophisticated 3D puzzle game with a unique sensibility.
Users participating in “Inha.Pe” will be able to enjoy the featured games directly throughout October. Final rankings will be determined based on platform metrics derived from user play and communication. Sales incentives will be awarded based on rankings, providing practical support for creators’ follow-up development and preparation for their next projects.
Stove views “Inha.Pe” not as a simple experiential event, but as the starting point of a virtuous ecosystem where creators and users collaborate. In particular, the sincere play of Stove users, who love indie games, provides creators with unprecedented feedback and support, empowering them to embark on their next journey. To this end, Stove plans to actively support sales of participating games even after the event ends and expand ongoing connections between users and creators through various promotions and discounts.
