Game startup gateway ‘Gyeonggi Game Audition’ recruiting participants… Total prize money of 200 million won, applications until April 14

        ○ Recruiting teams to participate in the ‘2025 Gyeonggi Game Audition (20th)’ event until April 14th
        ○ TOP10 selection and awards for 1st to 3rd place, total prize money of 200 million won, and exhibition booth provision

Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency are recruiting teams to participate in the ‘2025 Gyeonggi Game Audition (20th)’ event, which fosters star game content, until April 14th.

The Gyeonggi Game Audition, which has been held since 2015 and is now in its 20th year, is a project that discovers promising unreleased game content and provides various benefits. Any company, team, or individual capable of game planning and development nationwide can participate, and any unreleased game that is at the stage where an executable file (test build) can be submitted can apply.

The 10 teams that passed the first audition will advance to the final audition (final ranking match) at the largest game show in the metropolitan area, ‘PlayX4’, held at KINTEX in Goyang, where the 1st place (1 team), 2nd place (2 teams), 3rd place (2 teams), and prize winners (5 teams) will be selected.

The 10 teams that advance to the final audition will receive a total prize pool of 200 million won (up to 50 million won), follow-up support programs necessary for development and launch such as quality assurance (QA), sound, video, translation, and marketing, support for operating a booth at the Gyeonggi Game Audition exhibition hall (promotion and demonstration of winning and advancing works) within Play Expo, additional points for entry into the Gyeonggi Global Game Center (located in Pangyo), and services related to audition partner companies.

Last year, about 230 teams applied to participate, showing a high competition rate of 23:1, and ‘Metal Suits’ by Eggtart Co., Ltd. (CEO Jinman Park) took first place. Previously awarded works from Gyeonggi Game Auditions include ‘Sannabi’ by Wonder Potion (CEO Seunghyun Yoo), which won the 2022 Korea Game Awards, and ‘Witch’s Spring’ series by Kiwi Works (CEO Suyoung Jang), which surpassed 2 million paid downloads and $5 million in sales in Korea and abroad.

Bae Young-sang, head of the Digital Innovation Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, “The Gyeonggi Game Audition has established itself as a gateway for game startups representing not only Gyeonggi Province but also South Korea,” and added, “Since there are various support opportunities for game startups, I hope that many game development teams with novel ideas and capabilities will apply, and we will provide systematic benefits such as follow-up support to selected companies.”

For more detailed information on recruitment, please visit the Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency website (www.gcon.or.kr). For inquiries regarding application, please contact the Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency Game Industry Team by phone (031-776-4790) or by email (gameaudition@gcon.or.kr).
