Gyeonggi Province is holding pre-registration for the 2024 Play Expo, the largest game festival in the metropolitan area, until the 22nd. The benefit of free admission every day without paying the admission fee of up to 7,000 won is provided.
It will be held at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 in Goyang-si for four days from May 23rd to 26th, and the slogan of this event is ‘The joy of games and more.’ This contains the hope that the game will become a place for communication beyond the enjoyment it provides.
At this event, you can enjoy indie games and games that will bring back memories, and various unique attractions, including game-related equipment, are prepared. Various overseas buyers will participate in online and offline business matching (business connection) for small and indie game companies wishing to expand overseas, and employment information sessions with large game companies will also be held for students considering their careers or employment. In particular, a lecture and fan meeting by ‘Portal’ developer ‘Jifbarnet’ are also scheduled.
On the e-Sports Festival stage, e-sports competitions will be held with participation from various classes. You can watch everything from e-sports competitions for the disabled to campus competitions between college students, event matches to discover games that can be converted into e-sports among domestic sports and big matches from the finals of popular e-sports leagues.
If you want free admission, you can apply for pre-registration on the Play Expo website (www.playx4.or.kr) by 17:00 on the 22nd. Participants who have not pre-registered will be charged 7,000 won for adults, and 5,000 won for students on the day. You can enter by paying a fee, and Gyeonggi residents can get a 50% discount.
Kim Tae-Geun, head of the Digital Innovation Department, said, “This event is a festival where families and couples can experience visual enjoyment in the city during May, the month of family, and we hope they will experience the charm and healing of various games.”
