– For teenagers with interest and competence in games… Recruitment until April 25th
– 8 months of game development training provided, game competition and exhibition opportunities provided
The Netmarble Cultural Foundation (Chairman Bang Jun-hyeok) announced that it is recruiting youths to participate in the 8th regular course of the Game Academy.
‘Game Academy’, which started in 2016, is a social contribution activity representing the Netmarble Cultural Foundation that provides actual game development education to teenagers who dream of becoming future game talents.
Anyone in middle and high school interested in and competent in game development can apply for the game academy, and they can choose their desired field among game planning, programming, and graphic design.
In particular, from this year’s course, we plan to think about the various uses of games and present game themes for major social issues to give students the experience of directly or indirectly contributing to society in areas where they can do well through game development with the public interest.
Students who wish to participate can download and fill out the application form from the Netmarble Cultural Foundation website notice and submit it by email by April 25, along with the portfolio they have created.
Students who are finally selected through the document and in-depth screening can make their own games while receiving practical training and mentoring from professional instructors for about 8 months from May at the Netmarble Game Academy education studio. In addition, game contests and exhibitions are held together to award and disclose excellent works so that participating students can demonstrate their capabilities.
Lee Na-young, secretary-general of the Netmarble Cultural Foundation, said, “This year, with the easing of the COVID-19 situation, face-to-face events such as Reunion Day and conferences will be resumed, further expanding opportunities for students to exchange and grow.” We plan to provide game development opportunities to more targets, so please look forward to it.”
Meanwhile, recruitment of participants for the 3rd term of the ‘Game Academy Boot Camp,’ a program that nurtures game experts through intensive education during the vacation period, is scheduled to proceed in June.
