The ‘2025 Indie Craft’, a representative indie game festival in Korea hosted by Seongnam City and co-hosted by Seongnam Industrial Promotion Agency and Korea Mobile Game Association, began operating a full-scale support program with the launch of the organizing committee on June 24.

‘2025 Indie Craft’ is a representative domestic indie game development event that started in 2019 and is now in its 7th year. It selects excellent indie game developers and provides them with offline exhibitions, prize money, and support for commercialization, and is operated with a particular focus on practical support for global expansion.

The inauguration ceremony of this organizing committee was held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 24th at the Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Pangyo, and seven experts representing the domestic game industry were officially appointed as organizing committee members. The organizing committee members will work together to provide consulting and operational support for Indiecraft, cooperate with institutions, and work on global expansion, thereby leading the overall advancement of the event.

The event was held in the following order: ▲welcoming remarks by Seongnam Industrial Promotion Agency Director Lee Eui-jun, who is also the co-chairman of the organizing committee ▲2025 Indie Craft business briefing ▲organizing committee appointment ceremony ▲1st advisory meeting.

At the business briefing, Indiecraft’s main programs for this year were introduced, and in particular, the ‘Global IR Accelerating’ program with global solution company ‘Xsolla’ attracted attention. This program garnered attention as it provides practical support for global expansion by providing selected developers with the opportunity to present IR decks and directly consult with overseas publishers and investors.

At the appointment ceremony held that day, a total of 7 organizing committee members were awarded certificates of appointment, and Chairman Lee Taek-soo of the Korea Game Media Association, who received the certificates of appointment as a representative, said, “As an organizing committee member, I will continue to support the success of Indie Craft and do my best to run a successful event.”

In the first advisory meeting that followed, various measures were discussed to improve the quality of indie craft, support methods for developers, and strengthen global competitiveness.

Seongnam Industrial Promotion Agency Director Lee Eui-jun (Co-Chairman of the Organizing Committee) said, “Indie Craft is an event created by experts from each field. I believe that Indie Craft can become a starting point for changing the flow of the Korean indie game industry beyond a simple game event, and Seongnam will be a strong partner in opening the floodgates for that change.”

Chairman Hwang Seong-ik of the Korea Mobile Game Association, who served as co-chairman of the organizing committee, said, “I will do my best with the organizing committee to ensure that IndieCraft can become a practical stepping stone leading domestic indie game developers to advance into the global market,” and added, “I ask for your interest and participation in the 2025 IndieCraft.”

Meanwhile, the ‘2025 Indie Craft Networking Day’ will be held in Pangyo on Friday, June 27. It is a private networking event with the participation of the TOP 50 companies, the TOP 20 companies in the Challenger category, and about 120 people including industry professionals. Various events such as a semi-conference by game industry experts, presentations by excellent developers, an award ceremony for TOP developers, and networking programs will be held.
