Smilegate is the first game company in Korea with a platform to acquire qualification as an independent rating classification company. It strengthened support for developers of its own indie game platform, ‘Stove Indie,’ and took the lead in indie game distribution and base expansion and in creating a healthy game ecosystem.

Smilegate, which has continued to support the administrative deliberation of indie game developers even during the two months when it was unable to self-classify due to the merger of corporations, quickly reacquired qualifications to continue creating an environment in which indie game developers and prospective creators can focus only on development. Smilegate plans to service more diverse indie games in Korea, starting with redesigning as a business operator. Indie game creators will be guided to make it easier to request a rating review, and review support will continue for developers who want to release a game with a rating not for youth use, which requires a review by the Game Management Committee under the current law.

In addition to the existing system, Smilegate plans to act as an operator considering its influence in the domestic game market.
