■ Buulkyung Regional Indie Game Conference and Exhibition ‘Build 051’, Recruiting Participants Until the 20th
■ Smilegate Group, Orange Planet, and Stove Indie Join in Sponsorship
Smilegate Orange Planet Startup Foundation (Director Sangbong Seo) Busan Center announced on the 18th that it will hold ‘Build 051 with Orange Planet’ on the 27th and 28th of this month at the Seomyeon Esports Stadium in Busan.
‘Build 051’ is an event held to improve the capabilities of game developers in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions and to revitalize the game ecosystem. It is targeted at local developers as well as college students majoring in games. It is hosted by Orange Planet, Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency, and Dongseo University, and organized by Indieboo, a Busan indie game developer group. It is sponsored by Stove Indie and Two Hands Interactive to help foster local developers.
This year, we will focus on delivering insights related to the console and PC gaming markets under the theme of ‘multiplatform.’
On the first day of the event, the 27th, Valve, which operates the world’s largest electronic software distribution network (ESD) ‘Steam’, will present ‘The latest trends in the Steam platform and Steam Deck porting strategies’. Stove Indie, Polymorph, Didim, Asteroid J, Next Stage, and C Play will also take the stage to share their insights on the global PC and console markets.
On the second day, about 50 game development teams from Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam will participate and showcase the games they have developed. Starting this year, it has been converted to an open exhibition, so even general users can submit games. Visitors can play the games on display and exchange opinions with developers.
Recruitment for exhibition participation teams is open until the 20th of this month. You can check the details on the official Indiebu website ( https://build051.org ).
Seo Sang-bong, head of the Orange Planet Center, said, “Orange Planet Busan Center will spare no support in contributing to the local game ecosystem and discovering and nurturing promising local game developers in the future.”
