The G-Star Organizing Committee (Chairperson Shin-cheol Kang) announced that the international game exhibition ‘G-Star 2021’, which was temporarily suspended last year due to Corona 19, will be held at the BEXCO Exhibition Center in Busan for 5 days from November 17th.
The event, which will be held with a total of 1,221 booths (908 booths in BTC Hall, 313 booths in BTB Hall), is expected to be held at half the level of previous years, with NCsoft, Nexon, and Netmarble, the so-called big three game industry, absent.
The organizing committee said that it was originally scheduled to receive applications at 60% of the previous year in order to reflect the strengthened quarantine rules to respond to COVID-19, and that the additional space secured through this will be used as a space for quarantine as much as possible.
In addition, a support program for indie game developers will be held at ‘G-Star 2021’. Participation in the event is free, and indie game developers who pass the final selection process will be provided with an exhibition space and basic equipment for game demonstrations.
The indie exhibition is operated within the booth of ‘BIC Showcase 2021’ participating in BTC, and any indie developer can apply. Registration for participation will be held from October 7 (Thu) to 18 (Mon), 2021, and up to 30 works will be selected through a screening process.
