LX Korea Land Information Corporation (President Kim Jeong-ryeol, hereafter referred to as LX Corporation) is accelerating the revitalization of the metaverse industry through games with the Jeonbuk Content Convergence Promotion Agency (President Choi Yong-seok, hereafter referred to as the Promotion Agency).

Song-wook Choi, head of LX Corporation and Yong-seok Choi, president of the Promotion Agency, signed a ‘business agreement for discovering and activating metaverse contents’ at the Jeonbuk Contents Convergence Agency in Jeonju on the 29th.

Accordingly, the two organizations will jointly conduct the ‘Metaverse-type functional game content production support project’ contest.

In this process, LX Corporation provides digital twin data, and participating companies are expected to use it to create content that maximizes the immersion of the game and expands the real experience through avatars.

This contest for the development of excellent metaverse game contents will support production costs of up to KRW 300 million (200 million KRW + LX 100 million) for two game companies. Registration for participation is possible online until April 14.

Previously, LX Corporation, in cooperation with Jeonju City, built the ‘Digital Twin Jeonju’, the foundation of which has been established since 2018, and built a public-facing administrative service model such as river management and disaster prediction.

Choi Song-wook, head of the Geospatial Information Division of LX Corporation, said, “We hope that the collaboration between the two organizations will serve as a focal point for expanding the metaverse ecosystem through the convergence and convergence of content such as geospatial information and metaverse.”

Director Choi Yong-seok of the Promotion Agency said, “In the metaverse era, we hope to support new growth for local businesses and create jobs for young people to foster the specialized metaverse industry in Jeollabuk-do.”
