The Korea Mobile Game Association (CEO Hwang Seong-ik) and OnFace (CEO Kim Min-seok) announced on the 7th that they would jointly open a member-only mall specializing in game production devices for association member companies and domestic indie and small and medium-sized game developers.
This member-only mall is operated in the form of providing a special discount to the association’s executives and member companies in consideration of the part that small, medium-sized and indie game developers are hesitant to purchase computer devices for game development. In addition, he said that it is considering rental support for startups that are difficult to purchase separately.
The association announced that device setting and maintenance can be received free of charge if purchased using the online member mall, and that it plans to hold various seminars on device operation for buyers and association members together with OnFace.
In addition, he said that it will provide devices in a rental manner through On-Face’s own funding to help small and medium-sized and indie game developers and new start-up developers reduce their financial burden.
CEO Kim Min-seok said, “Through our affiliate OnFace Games, we know the difficulties of small and medium-sized indie game developers better than anyone. It is an honor to be able to establish a foothold for coexistence with small and medium-sized game developers in Korea through collaboration with the Korea Mobile Game Association.”
Chairman Hwang Seong-ik said, “A good game development device is essential for small and medium-sized indie game developers. In the future, the Korea Mobile Game Association plans to carry out various projects that can be helpful not only to the association members but also to small and medium-sized game developers together with leading companies.”
