Post-apocalyptic farm simulation ‘Dolok Town’ officially released

    By Editorial Team2026년 08월 07일6 Mins Read
    • A healing simulation combining farming and exploration amidst ruins, completed after over a year of early access.
    • A meeting of Stardew Valley vibes and a post-apocalyptic world, support for new regions and mods added
    • 95% positive rating out of 1,958 cumulative Steam reviews… 20% discount to celebrate launch

Logoi Games and RedSaw Games announced on the 6th (local time) that they have released the official version 1.0 of the post-apocalyptic farm simulation ‘Doloc Town’ .

‘Dolok Town’ is a post-apocalyptic farm simulation where you cultivate a farm and rebuild a village amidst the ruins of a collapsed civilization.

Players cultivate crops and raise livestock in a barren wasteland, building their own village amidst the changing seasons. The game also features adventure elements, such as exploring ruins with a customizable drone and uncovering the secrets of a forgotten civilization.

This work, which garnered attention for its unique atmosphere combining hand-drawn pixel art and a post-apocalyptic worldview, was also described overseas as “a game that looks like a mix of Stardew Valley, Terraria, and Fallout.”

Since its release on Steam Early Access last May, it has maintained an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive (95%)’ rating on Steam through four major updates, and with this 1.0 version, it has officially launched with a completed story, new areas, and automation systems.

To celebrate the official launch, the game is participating in the ‘Wholesome Games Steam Celebration’ and will be sold at a 20% discount until the 19th (Pacific Standard Time).

Life blooming again upon the ruins

‘Dolok Town’ is set in a post-apocalyptic world where civilization has collapsed due to a war of machines. Players must settle in the wasteland with only a tent and minimal equipment, cultivate a farm, and rebuild a village.

Unlike typical farm simulations, the game features a side-scrolling gameplay style that allows movement from left to right. This enables players to expand buildings vertically, design their farms, and enjoy Metroidvania-style exploration.

A variety of lifestyle content is available, including farming and livestock raising, as well as fishing, cooking, a breeding system through crop genetic improvement, and interactions with residents and village festivals. Additionally, by adding combat elements to face threatening creatures, it offers diverse gameplay that encompasses farm management, exploration, and combat.

Story completion and automation system added

In this 1.0 update, the post-apocalyptic narrative that has continued throughout the Early Access period is finally concluded.

In particular, a new area called ‘Old City Ruins’ has been added, featuring new enemies, NPCs, and various sub-quests. Additionally, a farm automation system has been introduced to reduce repetitive tasks, significantly improving operational convenience.

The main farm can be expanded to its final stage, and two new farmlands located around the world are unlocked. In addition, new village events and resident friendship quests have been added, and mod support via the Steam Workshop is provided, allowing users to expand the content themselves.

Post-apocalypse depicted in hand-drawn pixel art

‘Dolok Town’ is a game that exquisitely blends charming pixel graphics with a desolate worldview. Although it is tagged with ‘Cozy’ and ‘Pixel Graphics’ on Steam, it offers a gameplay experience distinctly different from existing farm simulations by incorporating a platformer-style side-view structure.

Overseas media outlets highly praised the unique direction, which combines the warm atmosphere of a life simulation with the tension of a ruined landscape with acid rain. One media outlet even described it as “a game that conveys the comfort that life and hope can grow again even amidst ruins.”

1.0 completed together with the players

Red Saw Games’ debut title, ‘Dolok Town’, was developed with the goal of combining cozy farm simulation with post-apocalyptic exploration.

Since its Early Access launch last May, the game has undergone four major updates—including ‘Pastoral Waves’, ‘Thrive and Tides’, ‘Harvest Fusion’, and Steam Workshop support—and has consistently added various content such as livestock farming, fish farming, resident interaction, a genetic system, village festivals, and mod support. The development team explained that most of this process was the result of actively incorporating user feedback.

“When we first launched Early Access, ‘Dolok Town’ was a promise,” said Yao Fan, a producer at Red Saw Games. “I am confident that we can deliver a special farm simulation experience to players who have been with us from the beginning, as well as to those just starting out.”

Steam ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’… Overseas Media Also Praises

As of the time of writing, ‘Dolok Town’ maintains an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating on Steam, recording a 95% positive rating out of 1,958 cumulative reviews. Reviews registered over the past 30 days also show a positive rating rate of 95%, continuing to receive a positive response even after the official launch.

The game was selected as a finalist in the IGN China Awards 2025 Emerging Titles category, the ChinaJoy x Game Connection Game Development Award for Best Simulation Game, and the 2024 IndiePlay Nova Award finalist. With this official release, it also participated in ‘Wholesome Games Celebration 2026’.

Reviews from overseas media are also positive. CGMagazine gave it an 8 out of 10, highly praising its originality as a side-scrolling farming and crafting game, while RPGamer analyzed that the vertical exploration and building systems are differentiating factors within the genre. Game8 also evaluated that, as a result of consistently adding content during the early access period, it has emerged as a highly polished title in version 1.0.

Completed after about a year of early access, ‘Dolok Town’ has created a unique system that goes beyond a simple farm simulation, weaving together exploration, survival, and village reconstruction.

With a completed story, automation system, and new exploration areas added, attention is focused on whether this 1.0 version will be able to lead more users to a farm of hope in a desolate world.
