Maximum Entertainment simultaneously released ‘Wyrdweaver, ‘ a free update content for the open-world survival adventure ‘Smalland: Survive the Wilds, ‘ across all platforms on April 2.
The game is an open-world survival adventure where small beings survive in a vast natural environment. Combining exploration, combat, and base building, this update focuses on enhancing the overall quality of the game by adding various content, including expanded underground areas, new bosses, and equipment.
An ancient threat slumbering deep underground, the new boss Wideweaver appears
The highlight of this update is the powerful new boss, ‘Wideweaver,’ who has been slumbering deep beneath the Overland. A newly expanded underground area has also been unveiled to prepare for the battle against this new boss, who is described as a master of forgotten ancient arcane technology.
Various dangers, mysteries, and hidden rewards are placed throughout the cave, adding to the fun of exploration.

Significant enhancements have also been made to the equipment side. New armor sets utilizing Wide Power, unique weapons, and ancient spells that grant new abilities have been added, along with a new building tier that strengthens base construction and settlement defense.
In terms of convenience, it includes an option to extend the field of view (FOV) up to 140, journal modifications, campsite stability improvements, and overall performance and visual polishing.

‘Småland: Survive the Wilds’ is a title co-published by Merge Games and Maximum Entertainment, and has maintained over 9,000 reviews and a ‘very positive’ rating on Steam since its official release in February 2024.
Merge Games is a global game publisher, developer, and distributor headquartered in Manchester, UK, and has released titles such as ‘Bramble: The Mountain King’, ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge’, and ‘Spirit of the North’.
Maximum Entertainment is also accelerating platform expansion by announcing in March of this year that it will release a Nintendo Switch 2 version of ‘Smalland’ in the spring of 2026.

Some media outlets stated, “It is surprising in itself that a small team was able to implement this level of polish, vast systems, and expansive maps,” and strongly recommended it to fans of ‘Grounded’. The Steam community is also continuing to report that the content has expanded significantly through consistent updates since Early Access.
